watering dry clay by Wes
Pardon my ignorance but I bought some fire clay and it is in dry powdered form. Do I just add water and start stirring? Any idea of weight of water to weight of clay? My application is to seal a metal box that will be used for case hardening in order to keep air out. Thanks in advance, Wes

Spode? by Willi
http://members.aon.at/supervague/iview.html?d=images/18centpitcherhandle.jpg I've found this while working in my house . Could this be an early mark of Spode? The sherd is the upper part of the handle of an earthen pitcher. The unit of the underlying grid is exactly 2 centimeters. G, Willi

Pottery classes? by windriverfamily
Hello, folks! I'm a new lurker to this newsgroup. I'm hoping you can help me connect with a pottery community in Portland, Oregon. My mother was a potter, and I grew up scouring the hills (so to speak) for native clays. Sometimes we'd build raku kilns on the beach and fire what we made there! ...
