Blue ceramics by
Jake Loddington
No: not cobalt.
Some while ago, I saw a photograph of a porcelain vase with a blue
shadowgram image. I assumed that this was a cyanotype image (the father
of the engineers' blueprint), and was therefore unfired.
I read up about this antique photographic process, which pre-dated even...

'Home' setup for glaze spraying? (UK) by
Jake Loddington
In article , no spam here,
thanks writes
I've never had much success dipping glazes, but recently tried spraying
for the first time and was very happy with the result ..... and it seems
to be quite economical on glaze, too - no need...

Michael Casson by
Jake Loddington
Sad to read the obituary of Michael Casson.
I have emailed the BBC to try to persuade them to re-run (perhaps on
BBC-4?) the five-part series called 'The Craft of the Potter', devised
by Mick Casson and broadcast initially in 1976.

Decorem? by
Jake Loddington
Has anyone heard of this product / process for putting images on to
ceramics? I came across a mention of it somewhere recently. I can't
remember where, and when I Googled it, all I got was a lot of Latin
references (and some pointers to Wilfred Owen).

Paragon B88B by
james
I just bought a Paragon B88B Kiln. I was hoping to use it to fire
Pottery, but based on the limited information I have found on the 'net,
it seems to be more suited to "greenware", whatever that is. Can
someone tell me what I can expect to use this Kiln for?
Thanks
James

pottery term by
James Norton
I'm trying to think of a word that describes a process used in Wedgwood
manufacturing that involves applying a band of low relief decoration around
the outside of a vase. The band is prepared in a plaster mold and
transferred to the vase. Any help is appreciated.

Trolls - OT but Germane to Advice on Studio Size Flap by
Jan Clauson
I have been informed of a message-board nuisance called a troll. As it
was explained to me, they are called trolls for two reasons: 1. They
troll message boards making nasty comments in order to start an
argument, and 2. They are ugly little devils!
I am assured that if you don't feed them...
