applique question by
Ann
I've been meaning to try my hand at applique. I ordered Darcy Ashton's
books Grandma's Bunnies and Darling Dogs and boy are they cute!!
I thought I would start off the easy way and use one fabric for the entire
dog, and machine applique. I'm using steam-a-seam and tracing the pattern
on the...

I have gotten started on my applique.........first time go at it. I've
dabbled at it before but not serious. The bunnies are way too cute. I've

peek.
I started off with 5 blocks of the puppies........ a trial run. ...

last border. I am pleased with my first applique project. The bunnies are
so cute. Posted pics are in the In Progress folder.
But how do I quilt this now? I don't have time for anything fancy. I was
thinking of...

Ann
Finished machine appliquing a wallhanging this afternoon. Have to add the
golfer yet though. Can't decide if I should add the man or woman.
Directions gives the pattern for both.
I'm very pleased how it turned out. And considering the bunnies were my
first applique attempt, I leaped right in...

OT Nut Allergy by
Ann
I need some help..........Is Pure Almond Extract really made from nuts? This
is what the label says:
Almond Ingredients: water, propylene glycol, alcohol, flavour
I made a cheesecake and the recipe called for 1/2 tsp of almond extract.
Not thinking, I added it. My DIL is allergic to nuts...

border with or without piping by
Ann
I'm making a quilt for my nephew who is getting married in July. Their home
decor colours are neutrals with turquoise to add colour. I have the quilt
top done, which measures approx 80 x 100 without borders. The backing is
turquoise, on the blue side.
I'm debating on whether or not I should...

After reading before the holidays about Leslie's caramels I decided to try a

looking for the phone, scorched the batch a bit. So needed to make another
batch to which I added peanuts. DH said first batch didn't taste...

Paper Piecing and Seams question by
Ann
I started my second PP project. I seem to pick the advanced patterns for a
beginner.
Anyway, 4 smaller blocks are put together to make a 12" block. But there
are 28 seams that all meet in the centre. This makes it very bulky in the
centre of the square. There must be some way to reduce the...

quilt. Does anyone know if there are any free applique patterns online
suitable for a baby quilt? Like bunnies or puppies? If you have any book
recommendations with patterns that would be great too and I can maybe see...

favourite, as do I. I had ordered 1 yard each 24 diff moda marble fabrics
for a future specific project but a new project came along and I dug into my
colours. The 1 yard was a bit short but no problem, I'll reorder more. ...
