Stash-y question part one by
Cheryl Isaak
If you were to receive a gift of floss stash, what you you prefer?
4-5 skeins from an established name (GAST, WDWs) in six strand floss
Or
6-8 skeins from a new to you name?(ditto - 6 strand, you can spend more
since they are less expensive)
Or
4-5 skeins or cards of something totally...

Page with free patterns and a contest to win your image in a pattern by
Mayte
Hi!
I have found a website with some free patterns. It has also a monthly
contest in which, if you win, they will convert the image in a pattern
for free!
I think the site is new and only in Spanish, but I also think it is
worth having a look at it.
The address is:...

Source for candlewicking floss by
Cheryl Isaak
I'm working away at a pillow top that has candlewicking floss as a major
component. What was supplied feels terrible on/in my hands as well as
feeling, well, chintzy.
Anyone got a reasonable source for candewicking supplies?

Suggesions welcome by
lewmew
(Hope this isn't a rerun!)
I've gotten out the tropical themed hand painted canvas I got for
Christmas and put it on stretcher bars to stare and start thinking
about. I've decided I'm going to do a bargello type stitch for the
background on each picture - horizontal for the fish and...

Written by an Australian Dentist
To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a
report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer
of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote an...

I know I shouldn't, but.... by
Susan Hartman
For some reason, I've had a hankering to do some Hardanger. It's been
awhile since I played in that sandbox, so to speak, and I have WIPs out
the wazoo and have committed to finishing some of them before allowing
myself to take up anything new. But yesterday I succumbed - started a
very small...

2 WIPs finished including Waste Canvas experiment by
Fran
I finished the Waste Canvas experiment, rinsed it, ironed, and blocked
it. The silks I used - Kreinik's PingLing and Au ver a Soie's Soie
D'Alger did not run, so I didn't have to worry about that, thankfully,
since I had to get the stitched area very wet and keep it wet in
order to remove the...

While we were away this last week....and with NO Internet to divert me,
I finished RK Portfolio Coconut Palm. Now I have to start and finish
the Date Palm to have the pair to take to the framer to go in the living

Off Topic - Just when I thought I'd seen everything by
Cheryl Isaak
There was a gentleman in full Scottish attire in Barnes and Noble in Nashua
NH
Kilt, knee socks with the garter, an Aran type sweater and sporran. Didn't
look for a dirk, but would be a weapon and severely frowned on.

Going nuts by
anne
I worked the previously mentioned freebie on stretcher bars and was appalled
that it gotten so skewed that none of the sides are perfectly straight. In an
attempt to get even edges, I did something really stupid -- I cut a border of
12 threads, folded it leaving 4 threads as a visible border,...
