OK to quilt after amnio? by
Sylvia
I wouldn't machine-quilt after amnio (or do anything else that requires
a sitting-up or hunched-over position). Hand quilting while reclining
would probably be okay.

Life's story by
buddy
Do we all have to tell our life's story on this group?
A little bit about sewing and quilting is enough.

Baby Slings? by
frood
Um, mine used O-rings. G I have never seen a pattern. I did see some for
sale that a lady had made (in gorgeous batiks), and asked about it and she
said she just looked at one and made up a pattern. Well, that was no help to
me (or for you!).
Good luck with it! I did eventually find 2 that I...

Another South of the Border Run-Part 3 by

The next morning we drove out to Auburn and found Machado Orchards. A
favourite of our friend BBL-Phyllis and had peach pie for breakfast. Then
we wandered around the old town and poked in a few antique shops. Found a
wonderful line of Halloween ornaments in the flavour of Willie...

OT - Help Help Help - Embroidery by
Donna in Idaho
Our guild is making quilt blocks for the outgoing president. She picked -
what I'm sure are embroidery patterns - Sunbonnet Sue pictures to be
appliqued and then done with blanket stitch with black perle cotton. Some
of the pieces are tiny - such as the feet and hands & tiny little leaves on

Woke up in Florence to cooler temperatures and dew on the car. First stop
was Jodi's quilts, the shop is set back off the highway in a building that
also houses a mechanic, so keep your eye out if you are looking for it.

OT - school starts this week by
Janner
Well school is back on Thursday and DD#1 has been going for 4 years now, but
DD#2 is just starting. So I have spent the day sewing in name labels and
making sure that all her uniform fits - aww she looks cute, but she can't be
old enough for school already, can she? It doesn't seem 5 minutes ago...

Saturday Plans for Fabric by
Ann
Living in a small town we don't get into the big city of Edmonton much, at
least have spare time but tomorrow we are going in and I told DH I want to
go window shopping at a fabric shop I've never been before. They have a
website and looks like a place to go.
I have nothing in particular to buy...

OT dad update by

Well I have spent two weeks away from my parents and needless to say it is
driving me bonkers. I had to return home to go back to work. The vent tube was
removed on Thursday and dad is totally breathing on his own. The stomach tube
is still in place as well as the trach itself. Yesterday my mom got...

Okay, I've lived here in CC for over a year now, but never had time or could
find the 2 LQS's in this town. So, next door neighbor hauled me out today. I
went to one. We were supposed to go to both, but we spent so much time in #1 -
we never made it to #2.
WOW. Guess the water filtration...

Just goes to show, it doesn't have to be complicated to be great. Gentle
(((hugs))) for your shoulder -how did you do this? We need to know so we can
avoid it. Not an occupational hazard of machine quilting I hope?

Question about Solvy by
Nurse Ratched
Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
Quite a while back, I read this fascinating article about taking silk fibers
and scattering them between two layers of Solvy, then stitching wildly over
them with decorative thread. Rinse away the Solvy and, voila!, you have this
wonderful lacy...

chenille by
Dianne
Have any of you made your own chenille pannels? I am thinking of using a
baby quilt panel and 3 layers of flannel but after I sew my lines and cut
through the 3 layers, do I wash it then or do I put on a binding first, then
wash it? or do I even put on a binding?
