Jim McLaughlin
My father in law is in his last days of his life. He has been a carver for
years and years, until he could no longer make it up and down the stairs to
his basement. He has carved about 50 to 75 carvings over the years. The
majority being birds and small animals. The majority stand about 5 " ...

Beginners Knife?? by
Jim Warren
I am a pocket-knife whittler and would like to move up to more serious
carving. My interest is 3 dimensional figure carving. If you were to buy
just one knife to achieve that goal, what would it be?
Thanks for the advice

carving a tree stump by
Jim Wild
I work at a golf coarse where we have a large stump 4 feet tall that my
boss wants to have carved into a standing marsh hawk since the name of
the course is marsh hawk. I suppose it would be done with one of these
circular power carvers. My question is, How would I begin to find a
person to do this...

Hi,
I am about to need a base for a small (8" tall) found-wood carving. I
am thinking of using alabaster for the contrast, but looking at the
usual carving suppliers don't see any source for small amounts of
alabaster. Can anyone recommend a supplier, or a good source for bases

What craft shows are on TV? by
JoelOmatik
Hi,
I was wondering what craft shows come on tv. Modern Masters is the only one I
know of on HGTV. I'm not looking for home design stuff, just crafting with
metal, wood, glass etc. Anyone know of any channels or time slots?
Please let me know, thanks.
