Gemini's case by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Ah Gem! So sorry about your situation! Messy one indeed!
When it comes to Melody, can not help...I think I leave the
message delivering to others...but I am here for you and we
all are here. I just hope your life will settle down a bit.
My license is not even near. One of the teachers told me...

What, me work? *gasp* by
SlinkyToy
I've become exceedingly accustomed to being a SAHM to a kid in
kindergarten. I chaperone two field trips a month, I volunteer in the
school library a couple of hours a week reshelving books the hooligans
pull out (librarian's rule is a book taken out of the shelves is left
on the desk, not...

Fair Isle question by
Joyce Poon
Hi all!
In a moment of insanity last night, I started my first fair isle
sweater and I am wondering what to do with the colours if I am not
using them on a row.
The sweater is a Philosopher's Wool kit with 9(!) different colours.
I've done a few of inches of the first sleeve and I carried all...

Light n Lofty coat? by
MakeDoMom
Anybody know of a pattern for a coat-sweater, preferably with a hood, that is
crocheted, in a "plus" size, using Light 'n'Lofty yarn?
This stuff was easy enough to crochet with, but nasty to knit with, as it
sticks to my wooden needles and won't slide at all.
I already made a wide, long scarf...

Sock pattern for hand and MK? by
Joy Hardie
Hello,
My mom is a great hand knitter and I have a knitting machine so I
know very little about conventional knitting. She has wanted to learn
to make socks and I would like to get her a pattern or book and some
wool for her Christmas gift. I did a googl search but I can't tell
which is best. I...

Ewww! Yuck! by
news.sonic.net
I was watching Enterprise and balling some donated yarn just now. I
finished balling some old brown KMart saayelle yarn, and wasn't paying
attention. When I grabbed the wrapper to throw it away, there were 70-80
dried husks from some caterpillar/moth.
Ewww Yuck! I will definitely wash that hat...

New Poster - looking for altar cloth patterns by
Michael O'Brien
Hi all,
I have a feeling I used to post to this group before GUI.
At any rate I am looking for a pattern for an altar cloth. It would really
be nice if it was of the Good Shepard, at least the front panel. I plan on
doing this in thread like a table cloth using South Maid or its equiv.
I have...

Yarn Weight Catagories by
DA
The question of what weight is this yarn will soon be moot, according to an
article in Knitters magazine. Most of us have already learned that 4 ply
yarn in the US is not 4 ply yarn in other places.
Yarn companies are switching to a universal labeling system to clarify yarn
weight. The new...
