Question about earrings and weight by
Martha
Hi all, I have a question about earring weight, or lack thereof. I've made
some cute earrings but the clay is so light when baked (specifically Premo)
that fish hook or French wires lift right out of the ear. I know I can get
those little rubber plugs to put on the earwires, or use a different...

thank you for your answers. I had looked through the glassattic pages before
hands but that doesn't not really answer my questions.
Most of the data there is for regular or silk lazertran. Here is how inkjet
lazertran shouls work: you select nice images on your computer, print them

eggs and TLS by
Sarajane Helm
hi there! I've been playing with eggs in the last few months, and with the
new gold, silver and black liquid sculpey. Couple of interesting things I
found were that the colored tls versions are much thicker than the
clear/white tls, and only require one coat baked on an egg (Two for the
clear) to...

Does this technique have a name? by
mermaidscove
http://www.justbeads.com/listings/details/index.cfm?itemnum=796097366
Is this unique to the artist or is it a technique with a name and maybe
some directions ;-)? I think it looks interesting. I like that organic
kind of thing.
Maybe a mix of mica shift and mokumegane(sp?)with stamps?

Newbie needs help by
twinkiesmom
Hi,
I just started with polymer clay trying to do some image transfers. My
clay is browned on the back side...the transparent is orange! Is my
oven too hot or am I baking too long or ???
Thanks,

Older Polymer Clay by
Always something new
I am fairly new to Polymer clay, and I have a question about older
clay.
Are there brands that are easier to recondition than others? I don't
want to get in too deep with something I might not be able to use, but
I found several auctions for older clay on eBay, which seems like a
good place to...

whats your latest project? anything new? by
Sjpolyclay
I'm trying the colored liquid sculpeys...there's black, gold, and silver. So
far, I can say they seem much heavier/thicker than the transparent. I've
started caoting some eggs to prep them for decorating later. I'm also working
on old stuff---but thats the new part!

thin clay... by
Bead Sprite
Hi there!
I introduced myself yesterday and I now have a question.
I like to make very thin pieces from polymer clay but I'm finding that they
don't harden enough, they stay very flexible. This is the case for all
clays that I've used i.e. Premo, Fimo, Sculpey III etc..
Anyone found a way to...

polishing my beads by
Beth Stubbs
I am looking for sandpaper to polish my beads ( I use the rock tumbler
method ala clayfulmingles. A GREAT method). The problem is finding sandpaper
of a finer grit than 600. I've found crocus paper with 800 grit at ACE
hardware but I don't like the way that works. Where can I get 800 and 1000
grit...

Premo Green - too intense for me - help by
Betty
Hello I am a newbie to polymer clay. I started this year. My main
focus has always been creating jewelry with beads. Some how or
another I got side tracked from that when I discovered polymer clay.
Previously, I never given the clay a second thought. I just wasn't
interested and quite honestly I...

dipping in polish by
Carla
Hi all,
Somewhere recently, I came across a link (that I foolishly didn't
follow) for instructions about dipping clay beads in Varathane or
polyurethane, so as to avoid brush marks. I thought it was Sarajane's
site, but couldn't find it when I went back.
Does anyone have info on this? If you do...

Question about Cookie Cutters by
Marissa Undercofler
Is it really necessary to have separate cookie cutters for clay and cookies?
I am curious because I would like to make some shapes that are best made
with cookie cutters, but don't have a whole lot of money to be throwing
around atm to buy all new cookie cutters for my polymer clay. If I wash
them...

Another question about Canes by
Marissa Undercofler
Sarajane, I know you make square canes, and I am curious about them. In the
recent pictures of your square canes, they looked pretty big. I am curious
if they are really as big as they looked, and if so, how do you work them
down into something smaller? Obviously you can't roll it on the table...
