Sculpey strength? by
Hi all. I was thinking of making a 3d sculpture that will eventually be
wall mounted. I am currently leaning towards using a oven bake clay such as
sculpey. My question is having never used it I am concerned about the
strength, in terms of fragility. The piece will not be handled and will...

Building a mold for casting resin by
G. M. Lupo
I'd like to try to create a top for a coffe table using resin but will need
to custom build the mold. The item would be one piece that's 48" long, 17"
wide and 5/16 " thick on top, with a lower portion that would fit down into
the table and would be 46" long, 15" wide and 5/8 " thick. I'd also...

DianeGlassAttic
I'm curious about the composition of the Makins-type clay, especially compared
to the Japanese clays like LaDoll, etc. (It was really hard to find out what
their composition was when I researched, but I finally found a reference to
"stone ground mineral" clay.)
Here's some info I gathered about...

Some experiments I have been trying..... by
Ray Jones
I have been messing around with sealing paper between layers of clay and
thought I'd relay some of my experiences in case anyone else is interested.
The basic idea is to draw a picture on paper, paint it with acrylic paints,
cut it out with a scalpel or exacto knife and bake it in a sandwich...

fossils and faux fossils by
PoRRo
Few weeks ago I bought some ammonite fossil slices from Shelley, and got to
see in real life how they are inside. I had some ammonites here, but I have
not seen the insides anywhere else than in the books and net. Now that I saw
them, I knew I had to try to cane them. I made the cane and some beads...

Compact kits by
Larry Rubin
Hi All!
For those who have expressed interest in compact kits(the mirror
type)...
Tuesday I cleared the compacts through Customs. The pictures are now
posted on the website, although the pictures aren't great. The
compacts however look great! (I am biased though).
Each compact is round, and...

LePoppet's Big Ebay Leap by
Lori Greenberg
Hey Maria.
They look great. I have just been inquiring about eBay stores and I think
you'll find that people will look for more to add on to their auction wins
when they check out. At least, that's what I've been told.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Metal-effect paint on polymer clay by
Tasha
Hi,
I've been trying to achieve a 'chrome' effect on some of my baked Fimo
creations without much luck - silver acrylic paint from my local art
shop gets me a 'brushed' effect, but it's not true chrome silver and
has a distinct texture. Can anyone recommend a product that would get
me a smoother...

milling or machining polymer clay? by
NuketyDukey
Hi All,
Have been looking for unique sources of plastics that can be customized and
colored in a variety of ways to fit special orders.
Polymer seems like a good fit, but not having worked with it before, I was
wondering if anyone has, or knows someone who has, used polymers and
machined them...
