Thread Question by
Cheryl
The other day my grandmother bought me some thread. I just noticed that one of the colors is for hand quilting. Can I still use that on my sewing machine? I've noticed its alot stiffer than the usual thread, and I dont want to harm my machine.
TIA

OT Kinda - not using msgr by
Cheryl in Oz
For the first time in weeks I went to msgr this morning and realised how
long it was since I chatted.
Since most of the names there are on rctq I should explain that my vision
(or lack thereof) make msgr very hard for me and I rarely use it now. If
anyone wants to "chat" (eg. for Electric Quilt...

Stash revisited by
Betty Monahan
So, today I spent several hours unpacking the stash and putting it back on
its shelves which DH helped me set up in the loft. It's a great way to get
reacquainted with what you have. I ended up with a box full of "ohmigosh,
where did that come from and how quickly can I make it go aways". There...

Plaids in quilts? by
Bonnie
My son would like a quilt with plaid fabrics but not too "busy". Something
soothing and easy on the eyes. I even ordered the book "Mad About Plaids"
but didn't find what I wanted in it. I'm thinking maybe mixing some plaids
with solids in a simple pattern? Any suggestions? I would love to...

Looking for indigo fabric by
Kathy Applebaum
At my quilt retreat, we did an indigo and shirting block exchange. I've sewn
up about a hundred more blocks (they're small blocks!), and I'm running out
of indigo. We're using reproductions of late 1800's / early 1900's
indigos -- these are fabrics that are mostly medium to dark blue (think...

Juki vs Janome by
joysjane
Help! I need to know pros and cons on the Juki TL98Q and the Janome 1600P.
I have a price quote of $799, free shipping on both of them (but just for
the next two weeks), so price isn't the issue. I have a Little Gracie II
that I haven't put together yet. I was going to use my workhorse Viking...

I enjoyed his seminar very much. He covered a wide range of topics so
