FA: The Scale Cabinetmaker by
Randy
I wanted to let everyone know that I've listed quite a few issues of
The Scale Cabinetmaker on eBay.
The Scale Cabinetmaker was a periodical publication that descibes the
details of how to create fine minature furniture and other things
miniature. The journal is no longer being produced, so the...

Big thanks & tiny hints by
[email protected]
Just wanted to thank all who helped me with my (sometimes lame)
questions. You've made my project run more smoothly. I'm sure I'll be
back with more (sometimes lame) questions, but to say thank you for your
help, so far, I thought I'd throw out a few tips I've stumbled on
myself.
If you're...

Cruck Cottage by
j
Does anyone know of any resources (websites, books etc) on building a
miniature cruck cottage?
Obviously, I have Googled but not an awful lot has come up and there doesn't
seem to be a lot in print about this particular item either.
Thanks in advance

Scale by
Herb
Bill wrote:
My wife and I are VERY new to Dollhouses. We have not even bought one yet.
What is the best scale to get?
That's sort of like asking "What's the best car to get?" or "What's the
best color?"
The answer is, "It depends!"

Tracking down a loose electrical connection? by
Cathy Weeks
Ok,
I've got the coach lights installed, and about half the time, they
turn on when I plug the house in, and half the time, they don't.
So, I got out my tester, and starting checking each splice. Where it
comes out from under the house - that's fine. Where it attaches to
the wall, that's fine. I...

Quick Grab? by
Dan Wenz
I'lll need more soon and understand it's no longer being made, but a
search in Google led to a site claiming:
"Quick Grab Glue
The Glue that used to be called 'Quick Grab' is now being manufactured
under the name "Omni Stick" Glue.
When Quick-Grab went out of business the chemical company that...

Another wiring, flooring, and roofing question by
Cathy Weeks
Right now the plan is to do my flooring on cardstock or something like
that, and to run the tape for the first floor ceiling fixtures on the
second floor, then cover it with the flooring which will be fixed down
in a semi-permanant method.
I got to thinking...instead of running the wiring on the...

What tools to use when drilling pilot holes for eyelets? by
Cathy Weeks
I bought Cir-Kit's mini drill ($6) and am really glad I did. With an
MDF house, trying to use the pilot hole punch that came with the
wiring kit would be impossible, and even putting the drill bit in the
punch didn't work - I couldn't get the chuck tightened enough, even
with pliers, and trying to...

3.5 volt lighting - no transformer by
Bernie
I have some 3.5v lights that I want to put in a dolls house. I want to use
a battery and not a transformer as a power source as it will be played with
by some small children. The answer to this question might be obvious but I
am not sure what voltage of battery should I use - is it 3.5 volts...

Wallpaper questions - which order for the walls? by
Cathy Weeks
I hung wallpaper in one of the rooms... looks great. I ended up
wallpapering to acid-free cardstock first, but a relatively thin
cardstock. I let it dry overnight, then wallpapered that to the walls.
The cardstock disguised my wiring sins beautifully, and added a bit
of stiffness to the paper so...

What glue to stick a floor down? by
Cathy Weeks
In the dollhouse, I plan to glue the floors down that have no
electrical under them, and use something like double-stick tape under
the ones that do have electrical.
What glue would I use for this? The flooring is a polyurethaned
coffee stirrer floor with a posterboard backing. So what's the...

Help! "Plug" shows in stairwell by
Cathy Weeks
Well, I got the plug for the stairwell cut down to size, and glued it
place. It was nearly flush with the bottom of the hole so I thought it
was good enough, but when I put the white paper up on the ceiling to
disguise it, it shows. Now what? How do I get it down without
ruining the wallpaper on...

Need Transformer Information by
Dan Wenz
We have a small "haunted" house for which my wife bought a number of
lights (pumpkins, etc.). Unfortunately, they're all the battery operated
3v type (I'd have preferred 12v ones), and I'm going to "transformerize"
them.
Appropriate transformers seem to be rare in my immediate area, with the...
