The Tailor's 'S' by
Bloddy
Can anybody help?
I'm looking for information on the sewing geometry of the Tailor's 'S'. As I
understand it, it's a method of stitching material that produces a neat turn
around a right angled bend instead of leaving a fold of unwanted material.
TIA.

How to shorten trouser by
Neil A.
Can anyone explain to me or point to a website which shows how to
shorten trousers. I can give $16 to the local rip-off korean
laundry/altering shop who use a machine and do a butchering job... but
I would like to know how I can do it myself or buy some machine (maybe
a hand held sewing gizmos)...

Does anyone know of a website that explains how to shorten the crotch on a
pattern for pants. I find when I make pants the crotch is way too low. I
tried raising it, but have had no success, and I tried raising the waistband
and lengthening the legs but this only works with really simple pants. ...

on), but being this is their first winter in a house that gets cold at night I

I'm new to this group and I have a question.
A neighbor has a Singer 5528 for sale and I want to know if anyone has
this and if you like the machine? I checked online and it's from about
1980-1982. It's only $40.00. I haven't got to see the machine, so I
don't anything about it. Is it a slant?
I...
