Pat in VA, FYI by
Anne in CA
OK, the rest of you can read this too ;-)
I just heard from Shona in NZ and she is fine but terribly busy with
work and travel for work and conferences for work. She promises to pop
in soon (after the next trip, maybe)and catch us up.
There was some mention of scoring 8 kg of fabric for NZ$3 per...

Nann Hilyard
Estelle sent this link . . . now that I look at the pattern, I see that it
could be made from nickel (5")squares.
Does anyone else see quilt blocks and try to figure out how to make them out
of nickel squares?!!

Quilt Labels by
Taria
The good thing about putting the label on before quilting is that it is
harder to remove in case of theft or that kind of thing. I would think
hand quilters would want to do the label after quilting though just
because quilting through the extra layers would be a fuss. I just whip
stitch them on...

OT jokes passed on from my GodMother -- not intended to offend by
Tricia
WOMEN'S REVENGE
"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman
wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a
television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, " but my husband refused to come...

Want scraps? by
Tricia
I have fabric scraps left over from my pineapple block I did last night
in the two main colors and a little bit of the super dark from the
corners. Most scrap pieces are not likely to do anyone any good unless
they make minis and even then I'm not sure if they are big enough
(never attempted or...

view of the Hug list and all. This is quite intolerable. I am going to
make a strong cuppa and give them a call. Say a prayer please.

OT - Making curtains - need help by
extremevalues
I am making my first real set of curtains.
Can you tell me what are the advantages/disadvantages to lining them?
Also, should I prewash the fabric prior to making them, or just make
them a couple inches longer than I want them to be to make up for any
shrinkage that may occur later when washing? ...
