Unexpected ER visit. by Butterfly-Wings
Went to the Pain Dr on Tues and ended up in hospital until yesterday. Seems like I got cellulitus in my big R toe...was on anti-biotics for a week for it but it got much worse. Pain Dr sent me right to ER and 4 hours later I was admitted. Put me on IV antibiotics and down in bed with foot...

waxing quilting thread by julia sidebottom
In all the time I have been on this NG I have not heard any discussion on waxing quilting thread when hand quilting. I am wondering if I am the only one that does this or are there others that do this. I do know it make the thread much easier to work with and less likely to fray along the way...

Not exactly quilting, but... by Julia in MN[_5_]
it is sewing related. I made Disney princess dresses for my granddaughters' dolls for Christmas. Photos are at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1283029991345.2038579.1097952730&type=1&l=d2a987aaeb. I think they are the first 3 in the album. You shouldn't have to be on facebook to...

choosing a new serger by Polly Esther[_5_]
I've been warned that my favorite serger isn't going to last much longer. Right now, it only goes if I have the wire to the foot control weighted down with my 4 D battery flashlight. Anyone have a new serger that does a beautiful tiny fine rolled edge? I'm not going to finish seams on canvas...

Polly on Facebook by Polly Esther[_5_]
Lord have mercy. We've had incoming all day until just nearly 10 pm. The grandchildren decided I needed a Facebook page and set one up. I stopped them in time to use my Polly name and set my age at 101 . . no personal information. Thought I was doing fine/safe okay and then got a msg from...

OT Brag about GD, a HERO by Bobbie Sews More
I just got a call from D son that his step daughter, age 11, had been spending some time with her dad this morning when he had a stroke and she called 911 for the ambulance before she called her mom to come get her, ---in the same town in SC. Goodness, I really am proud of her! Son said they...

QAYG Tutorial please? by Sunny[_2_]
Can anyone point me to an online tutorial for quilt as you go? Describing won't help -- I really can't process written directions well anymore. Hate to admit that, but it's true. I need to see how to join one quilted piece to another. Even still photos would work. Just something so I can SEE what's...

OT serger question by Taria
A friend has a serger that is having a problem. As you serge on it the thread on one of the tension disks (looper) just works its way out of the disk. It is a pretty old Singer serger. I never had this happen and wondered if anyone had or has any suggestions. TIA, Taria
