OT- when you were lonely by
MakeDoMom
Hi, all,
I can remember back in the '70's when I was still single and thinking that the
right guy would never come along, and having only so-so co-workers, and just
having a lot of time to myself, and being very lonely and bored. I so wish I
knew about quilting then!!!
I even had two apartments...

Heat Setting (DH's ~ you got to love 'em) by
Charlotte Hippen
I instructions on how to heat set my labels to make the ink permanent
(makers say to do so, but don't give instructions).
Here's the story: DH was heading out to get a surprise for DS for his
progress in potty training. While he was out I asked if he try to find me a
yellow pigma marker for...

Harrogate Quilt Show by

Hullo Sarah
I was there a couple of years ago. I liked it very much. It is not as
frenetic as Malvern, and is not so tightly packed with people. The
eating place is also easier, and you should be all right with a child.
The eating place, when I was there, was between the parts of the hall
set...

OT- Kate Dicey by
MakeDoMom
Hi,
Mostly I've lurked, but after reading the posts today, I have to say this.
I've ALWAYS enjoyed reading Kate's posts. She is such an interesting and
creative person, and shouldn't we be celebrating that?
Don't we all want to get together with people who are creative and interesting,
or do you...

Lonestar Quilt Question by
Quiltz
I'm currently making my first lonestar quilt. I was wondering if
anyone had any helpful tips on lining the rows up so that the rows
line up correctly. I'm hitting some & missing some right now &
wondered if there was a trick I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the help!

Fair Update by
MountainLady
Finally it is over. What a lot of work. I didn't realize how hard it
was going to be or how many hours it was going to take.
We had some really magnificent quilts hanging. We had a judge who
didn't judge quilts. But she really tried. At least she was willing
to take pointers.
And she was a...

Beautiful Quilts!!! by
Rbeezer
I found this website where a number of quilters have posted pics of their
quilts. They're all lovely, but there a couple that absolutely blew me away.
Here is the URL if you want to look at something special. The quilt blocks are
simple and traditional but her use of color is amazing and...

Quilty day (sort of) yesterday by
Pat in Virginia
Situations such as Donna and Julia have both reported have been
mentioned here in RCTQ before. These are frustrating and somewhat
insulting occurrences that are way too common, IMO. One problem
is that the organizers do not set minimum appropriate bids for
the wares, IMO. It hat were done and the...

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone
rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him,
"Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way
on Interstate 77. Please be careful!"
"Hell," said Herman, "It's not just one car. It's...

Shelter Animal Quilts by

Hello Everyone,
I guess, I'm the homeless dog and cat quilt maker. I have given nearly
300 "snuggle" quilts to our local Humane Society this year and hope to
continue to provide these blankets to them and other rescues for the
animals to enjoy. I guess this is also a recycling project. I use...

This year I entered 3 quilts and got 3 ribbons.
The blue quilt got a 1st place, the red one got a 3rd place.

The pink one won a 2nd place. It will be my almost 4 year old niece's

What am I doing wrong? by
Deb and Bob
I need some help. I just made a scrappy star, it's supposed to measure
12.5" unfinished. I'm using a scant quarter inch, I'm rotary cutting the
right size, I'm measuring and remeasuring everything, but when the block is
done - it's not 12.5". It's about 1/8 of an inch off.
The center is a 4...
