OT - Sad News by Sharon Harper
It is with streaming eyes (and nose!) and very blotchy face that I have to let you know my nanna passed away at 9am this morning. Mum called me this arvo at about 4 and it has been a frantic dash to get plane flights and babysitters organised. The girls will be home with family (DSIL) and I...

OT somewhat..an idea for links in your messages with quilts by Joanna
Just a thought but someone else here said they skip messages where they have to spend too much time guessing at things. I have a suggestion for including links to your work of arts. When you want us to look at a picture include the link right to that picture. No guessing what album it's in. Maybe...

I would like to host this swap with a deadline of having blocks into me around June 1, or Aug 1. This is not a sign up here now post- this is a discussion right now. Evil Sunbonnet Sue isn't the demure maiden in a dress with a hat doing something like sniffing roses or interspersed with her buddy...

Silly ? Seam Allowance by Dee in Oz

seam allowance by Raye Ahn
I would consider this a "scant 1/4 inch" In other words, a little under 1/4 inch. But I'd measure the seam allowance, when cutting the piece out, to be 1/4 inch so that it will fit next to the foot on your sewing machine. Most, not all, machine feet have a 1/4 inch marking or "toe" on them.

Tokyo fabric shop? by Frank & Karen Antalek
Does anyone out there have any experience with fabric shops in Tokyo? I know we are quite the international group here, and many of you have traveled a lot. We were there last year in January, and I guess didn't have much time to look for fabric. We also didn't find too many local folks that...

Way overdue Happy Dance! by hfw
Finally! The quilt for Kiki's Wedding is done. Well, except for the label. I think it was the second top I ever pieced. And I'd love to do it again, maybe paper-piecing this time to cope better with all the biases. The quilting is made up of continuous spirals, which kind of echo the gold spirals...

Road to California Quilt Show by Debbi
Spent the entire day at the Road to California Quilt Show. Had an absolute blast. GF and I left early, she had the directions to get there from the website, but we forgot to check with Rand McNally or Mapquest to see who to get to the correct freeway. We made up our own way and were in the...
