woohoo...making progress!! by
CNYstitcher
well, got the quilt all pinned down - DS helped me squish the batting
down - yesterday afternoon. Last night, I got the quilt sandwich sewn
together and the whole thing turned. It looks a ton better than what I
expected, and once again, DH said he liked it the best of everything
that I have done...

Quilting Breaks by
dogmom
Is it true that if I eat carrots instead of chocolate while taking breaks
from MQing, that all my thread will turn orange? And celery would turn it
all yuck-green?

Book Club report (long) by
frood
My book club meeting was a rousing success! We had 7 members, one more than
usual, and one member brought her 2 sisters along for a peek at the house.
*blush* As I was getting the house ready, I realized how many quilts are in
my house. Cool, I thought, you can really tell a quilter lives here -...

Unsquare squares.... by
julia sidebottom
I tend to cut my pieces a bit larger than a pattern calls for because of
just what you are saying. Pressing each section and squaring up those
pieces as I go along. The end product will come up almost square with
sometimes only a few threads off if you square each piece as you go. If
doing a 1/2...

OT- Joke by
Dawn in Alberta
Mozart Beyond the Grave
When Mozart passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A couple days
later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some
strange noise coming from the area where Mozart was buried.
Terrified, the drunk ran and got the town magistrate to come and
listen to...

G'day by
Curly
I am fairly new to quilting and computers and I am in total amazement that I
have access to so many wonderful people and patterns from all over the
world. I have been stumbling my way with RCTQ for a couple of days so
thought it time I said HELLO.

Quilt nights - do you sew or talk?? by
Liz and Steve Ford
Just had our Tuesday evening "bitch & stitch" session - that's DH name for
it, I like to refer to it as my quilting night. Small group tonight as it is
cold and wet outside and others didn't quite get as far as the door. We
talked about everything and nothing. Had show and tell by one of the...

Need advice to finish this quilt. by
nana2b
If you go to my album and see the crazy quilt, I am at a loss as to
finishing to top. It is quilted in the ditch and along the fancy stitching
lines that run straight in the middle of each row. Some of the areas are
empty and really need something. I keep putting it off. Any ideas would...

New answer to fabric question by

Recently Marianne Fons was on Simply Quilts ( It was probably an older
show. ) and she answered the question of how much fabric should one buy?
I loved her answer, and hereby pass it on (paraphrased) for those new
quilters among us.

OT - Mom in Fla needs you again! by

Well, I knew it was too quiet. I just found out that mom had a mini-stroke
on Wednesday, a TIA actually. She went to her regular doctor on Tuesday and
everything went well, it was a routine visit. The next day she couldn't
lift her leg off the couch. She went to one of these walk-in...
