My latest project by
Kathyl
I made this bag for the gift exchange we have at our small group's
Christmas party. I have to say this was a real bear to make! The bag
is has a layer of two sided fusible Timtex stabilizer on the sides.
The bottom has TWO layers of Timtex. Sewing that seam to attach the
bottom to the sides...

Charlotte Yde's books by
Hanne Gottliebsen
Someone just posted a link to Charlotte Yde's homepage, and I went to
have a look. I did see this before, but didn't notice her book page.
Lo and behold, there was the Contemporary Quilts from Scandinavia,
which I saw at a Quilt Festival and didn't get before someone else did
(grrr). A couple of...

Dick and Jane Found!!! by
Michele
What a miracle! I am setting up my new sewing room and started going through
all the boxes that had been packed up by the crews of people after the
tornado. A large portion of my fabric stash had been in the attic. The attic
and second floor were missing after the tornado. I opened a box full...

3 1/2 month old quilter :o) by
Susie
Hi everyone,
I've written here a few times. I mostly lurk to see what I can learn.
I started quilting on Oct. 11th and I think I might be addicted. :o)
I've done a pillow, a few table runners, placemat, a Santa decoration and
six various blocks.
I started a mystery quilt on New Years Eve. It was...

QI saftey by
Charlotte Hippen
I am curious how you all keep your 'helpful' QI's safe in your sewing area.
Until now, I have not had to worry about it. My Darius kitty had decided at
the start he will only worry about checking the final project for comfort
because it is too much work to help with the rest of it, unless you...

Prayer/Good Thought Request/Horrible Email to wake up to by
Tina
You guys have seen mention of my "surrogate dad" here on the group.
When I was growing up, after my dad had taken off - Keith was my mom's
best friend, did the stuff around our house that the "Dad" would
usually do, built bicycles on Christmas eve for me - took me to dance
and gymnastics. Tempered...

OT BRRRRRR...... by
Bonnie Patterson
OK, I've had enough, it's 9.5 degrees F. outside this morning!
This is Virginia!
We haven't even reached the winter solstice!
I would move further south but I don't want to be near a hurricane
either. AND I am breakfast, lunch, and dinner to blood sucking
insects!

What are you looking for or collecting?? by
frood
We haven't had one of these posts in awhile. If there is something in
particular that you are collecting, fabric-wise! or something are looking
for, post it! Let's find out who needs what. Oh, and it may be helpful to
potential squishie senders to find out who likes to get small scraps - you
know,...

Cribbean Sunset Quilt by

I am working on this quilt now and have all the pieces cut out. This quilt is by Nancy Mahoney. It says Easy at the top but think a beginner would have trouble. Quilt finishes at 68 X 68 with 12 inch blocks. My X block is 2 tone Turquoise print and the star block has solid turquoise with 2 colors...

Pennsylvania Quilts by

The Pittsburgh area PBS station aired an hour-long commercial-free
special program tonight about quilts in Pennsylvania. There were
interviews of our "Magic Mike" Lizonitz and Jennifer Chiaverini, among
other Pennsylvanians, including the Amish from Lancaster PA. Also
shown were Shaun Quinlan,...

New quilt project by
John
I think I must be going out of my mind. My wife and I are going back
to California for our 35th wedding anniversary, this summer. We, of
course, will get together with my 4 brothers and sisters. I am
thinking about doing 4 identical quilts to take back and give to each
of them as a surprise gift....

New quilt layout, quilting classes, new pictures by
Ann
Remember my dilemna last month on my colour choice for my quilt layout? I
had laid the blocks out and re-arranged and looked at it for a couple of
days and it still didn't do a thing for me. Well I got rid of the green and
brown blocks and replaced them with burgundy blocks and different...
