OFF TOPIC - oh my aching head by
Cheryl Isaak
Long day at work yesterday, could reach the DH to see if he would come meet
me at Panera - I'd have the supper I forgot to bring and he's have his
latte. Since the line was busy from 6:45 (45 minutes before my end of shift)
to walking out the door, I grabbed Taco Bell and ate and drove. (Not...

Embroidery advice needed/Alicia in Hawaii by
Laury Walkey
A number of years ago I started a stamped cross stitch kit and soon
learned I didn't like doing stamped cross stitch. I pulled it out of my
UFO pile and frogged the stitching intending to redo it. I still don't
like stamped cross stitch so I was thinking of other ways to stitch this
pattern. ...

old bureau scarves update by
val189
I decided to cut em in half, stitch the rough edge and use em as dish
towels. They all have a small hole or stain, I never cover bureaus,
and will NOT pay today's prices for a linen dish towel.
I had posted here a while back about converting them to napkins, but I
just know they would look very...

Overdyes - basic questions by
TomsonLF
I have only used DMC embroidery floss and have often seen overdyed thread
mentioned here. Would someone please explain what an overdyed thread is and
how, why and when it is used. Also how to clean.
Thank you

Thanks to a few helpful email pals, I pulled a few colors to start my
Jacobean-style embroidery piece.
I have so many 'started' projects now...but this
one has been calling me for some time now. ;)

Michael's Clearance by
lewmew
My local Michael's is apparently doing a major clean up (out?) of
their needlework section. A lot of the Dimensions Gold and Dolly Mama
kits are half price, as well as a lot of other things. If anyone
really wants one of these, LMK and I'll see if it's one their clearing
out and maybe we can work...

J&P Coats floss trade needed by
Laury Walkey
I wondered if anyone had some old stock of J&P Coats embroidery thread
to trade. I need several colors to finish an old project. I'd be happy
to trade another floss brand for it (ie DMC/Anchor, etc).
I just need one skein of each of the following colors:
2296
2335
5395
6021

Looking for fuzzy threads recommendations by
Joan E.
For my Nativity set, I'm thinking of doing the sheep and camels with
fuzzy threads. The sheep have 5 colors in their bodies (I can do
faces/legs with regular floss). The colors are the beige/gray ones
(DMC white, 644,642, 822, & 3781).
There aren't enough colors in Wisper to do this. The camels...

Small golf chart by
[email protected]
DH's aunt Priscilla is moving to Florida from New York state. She is
an ardent golfer ( just plays 9 holes now, not 18 and no longer
championship courses)). It is her passion, along with bridge. She is
the only family member for whom I have made nothing.
Does anyone know of a "tasteful"...

Christmas Eve pattern by DMC by
Stef[_2_]
There was a free pattern that DMA came out with years ago (1990ish)
called Christmas Eve. It was a picture of a town with fallen snow,
etc.
Does anyone have a copy or know how to get one?
A long time ago someone elmailed it to me but I lost it!!!
Thanks!!!

OT Fay by
Karen C in California
I mentioned NeedleDelights the other day. Aside from my frequent
contact with Kathy there, the shop is a mile or two from an old friend
who keeps me updated on their weather.
According to my friend, Fay is scheduled to hit Pensacola on Saturday,
packing much the same that Lucille got earlier...
