New Directory looking for submissions by
Adam Sargant
Frustrated with commercial google results when browsing for information, I've
started a new directory at www.reallyusefulstuff.com. The criteria for
inclusion is that the link is to a "how to..." page, an online tutorial and
some similarly informative site. I don't actively exclude sites that...

Diamond saw lubricant - UK by
Adrian
Hi all
I wonder if some kind soul could point me to a supplier of
cutting oil for use with a small (6") diamond lapidary saw.
One of the larger suppliers lists it in the catalogue - but won't
post it - wonder if it's the kind of thing that a local engineering
supplies place might carry. The stuff...

Looking for 2nd-hand lapidary equipment by
Adrian
Hi all
Does anybody know of a source of 2nd-hand lapidary equipment in the UK?
I'm hoping to start up doing some slabbing, polishing, cabs etc - but
I'm a bit daunted by the price of new equipment over here - seems to be
'pounds = dollars' again...!
Alternatively - any Stateside suppliers that...

lapidary combo saw / grinder unit - help! by
Adrian Brentnall
Hi all
I'm working on reconditioning a Beacon Star combination
saw/grinder/polisher unit - which has seen better days.
In order to replace the two grinding wheels, it seems to be necessary
to remove the two shaft bearings so that the grinding wheels can be
slid off the shaft.
Has anybody done...

Engraving Lord of the Rings fonts on ring by
ahh
Do some jewelers have machines that can engrave on a ring whatever font that
is typed into it?
I got a 14K gold ring and I also found tengwar cursive fonts on the net that
are suppose to be the closest to the inscription on Lord of the Rings ring.
I have figured out what type on a keyboard to make...
