Plz help - can't bobbin wind my new Singer XL by Gina Miller
Hello, I'm in a jam and I'm sure I must just be missing something since I've never used an embroidery machine before. I just got a new Singer XL 6000 and I've used the sewing machine part just fine, but now I want to try to embroider, I've got the base on fine and I see the embroidery jazz on...

Light blue Minkee? by Johanna Gibson
Hello, I'm finally working on a quilt for Sasha, chief QI, and using a lovely "brown gelatto minkee" of which I cannot find more! Never mind, I thought it would be nice to make a little pillow of light blue minkee to go with it, and it would take only about 1/2 yard of Minkee. I don't want to...

Which months would be the best to visit Scotland, Ireland, & Wales? DH & I are looking into a nice trip in 2007 or possibly late this year. This is one of the ones we are interested in. We were thinking late April, but we don't know. We can go anytime. Sherry Starr

OT Aussie air mail rates by Cats
For the Aussies who send parcels overseas - are you all aware that from Sep06 Economy Air Mail ceases and we will have to use the far more expensive Air Mail option? This won't impact on nice thin little squishies, but might be a problem for thicker items like packets of Tim Tams and chocolate...

Memory Quilt help Please! by joysjane
My husband is begging for a memory quilt, you won't believe what he wants on it. But I have never done one. What is the best book I should get? Hancock's is having a big sale this Saturday (don't know if the books will be really reduced) or I can use my Joann's coupon too. It will be a king...

OT front loading washers by Taria
Time to upgrade my washing machine. Water going up 29% and I need to reduce. The old machine (as Candice Olsen would say) doesn't owe anyone anything. It has served long and hard. I'll take any good and bad comments or things to watch for in the newer front loaders. Oh, I prewash my fabrics so...

OT Shoulder Injury - Long by Kate T.
I've been suffering with an injured left shoulder for a couple months now. I finally gave in and went to my family physican about a month ago. I got the usual meds and told to put it in a sling for a week or so. I did that. Took the meds as directed and the arm started working a little but the...

OT Did I ever mention... by NightMist
....that I hate nutgrass? Well I hate nutgrass. A lot. And if anybody is considering getting rid of a creeping charlie by just tossing it outdoors, please reconsider. I would suggest pounding it and the dirt it is in up with holy water, spreading it out to dry, burning it several times until it...
