Happy Labor Day! by Polly Esther
Kellie wrote (in part) I'm going out to weed the garden in the rain... then going upstairs to quilt if the family will allow it! I hope you didn't weed the garden in the rain. I remember well(so does everybody) the day I decided I would plant tomatoes according to the day that the Farmer's...

Decorating w/ quilty stuff by Ellison
Howdy! I've asked y'all before if you decorate w/ your quilts, if your home says "A Quilter lives here!" (Well, does it? g) I'm always on the lookout for more quilty stuff, not too junky, not too cutesy, things that look quilt-related. Came across this line of products by Jim Shore recently and...

OT - To Martha in In by Donna in Idaho
Are you there or have you floated down the river? - even though it seems to me you were on pretty high ground. I just saw on the Weather Channel that Indianapolis has had over 7 inches of rain today and it's still raining, and Terre Haute 5 inches. Hope everything is ok with all of you in Indiana...

Partly OT but I'm back by Mika
Well, we went to court on Monday and it was a disaster. We are still reeling from the total injustice of it all. BM lied and whined and got snotty on the witness stand. She and her attorney put SD16 on the stand to testify against her father and were gonna do the same to SD13 but our attorney...

OT Birth Announcement by Karlee in Kansas
Ok, we are home now from the hospital, so I'll post about her arrival. Its long (as usual) so be prepared. Thursday at around 1ish, I started having some pretty serious contractions. I kept an eye on the time, and when they hit 2 minutes(4pm), and painful, I ordered the boys to pack the car. I...

Attn Kevin! Attention Ramada Gals! (Happy Dance) by Roberta Zollner
I love it, Sandy! And this reminds me, since we've been talking about Houston 2004, let's give Kevin a mission (should he choose to accept it): Find an inexpensive place where ALL of us can stay. We could take over that Ramada! And Kevin can reserve 20-30 rooms or so, find out if they need...

Siggy Swap Update 9/1 by AliceW
Ok, so I just got back from Newport, RI to 1137 postings - I was only gone 5 days! Geesh! I will catch up sometime today after I unpack my luggage and set up my new PC, not necessarily in that order. But, first, I did tally up the September Siggy Swap members and we have 18 so far. I would like...

New quilt by MerryStahel
I saw a little tablerunner I really liked, forget where, but it was while I was cruising the Net the other night looking for Bible blocks and flowers...anyway, it was so charming and I had a bunch of the squares already cut in my scrap pile - so I thought, why not? I sat down and started making...

Happy dance by Jalynne
I finished the neighbor's quilt. It took a little while to put on the binding, because the last few days i've just not been feeling well, but I finished it last night, and I"m mostly happy with the way it came out. There are some mistakes in it, but there's even more love, so I won't worry about...

MQing -spacing by John Freese
I decided just to do a very simple diagonal MQ on my YBR. Sometimes I think (okay, I know) I get too caught up in how fancy or intricate to be. And I decided if the front is simple, go with a simple quilting. This twin size will be put on a couch in our sunroom, so whoever wants to go take a nap...

Well, the top is together. I found out I had a few extra blocks, so I made two pillow shams. Which I will guilt until my frame is delivered and put together. -- Bonnie NJ

TJ Lane Thimbles by frood
Anybody else have a thimble from Tommie? http://thimbles2fit.com/_home.htm I bought my elephant thimble (it's a regular quilting thimble with elephants on it) from her when she was in Raleigh at the end of May. I also purchased a thimble ring, which she took back to her shop to size and...

OT and not Quick checkin by Ginger in CA
Good morning all. I don't get too much chance to wander by our open door to the cyber-frame and peek in to see what-all is going on. Life is very busy right now. Let's see. In 3 weeks I am moving. Today I pay the last rent check of my life. Moving in with fiance and his 90 yo mom. We will be...
