new score by
John
I just got back from the home of the same woman who died and left me
all the fabric a couple of months ago. Her daughter is clearing out
the estate and the family has taken all the stuff that they want so
she called me to come down and look at some things. I got a "Large"
collection of templates...

'Shambles' is now a UFO by
jennellh
Shambles is my friend's golden lab (8yo) and the Quiltmaker paper
pieced pattern was the perfect picture of her. I made it up this
weekend in the hopes that I WILL finish it before I see my friend
again - it is her birthday this month and I had planned to make
something special for her this year...

I just posted my quilts made in 2007 by
Idahoqltr[_2_]
I can hardly believe this is all I've gotten done in 7 months, but I
just posted the three quilts I've made this year. I am working on
learning free-motion quilting so I did two of the quilts. The other
one I paid to have quilted because I knew I couldn't get it done in
time. I plan to deliver...

Hug Quilt - James Byrd Jr.family (1998) by
Mickie Swall
This group made a hug quilt for the James Byrd Jr. family about 8 or 9
years ago - (Mr. Byrd was the guy from Jasper, TX who was chained to a
truck and dragged to his death). Does anybody know if there are any
links online to pictures of the quilt? I know there was a newspaper
article when the...

OT cooking stoves and hand vacs by
Polly Esther
When I first was introduced to this group, we had just moved to the Swamp
and were rebuilding a kitchen. When asked for your ideas on kitchen
creation, the input was just wonderful. Now, well . . . maybe not now but
soon, the stove I love is going to need to be replaced. Please share your...

OT wrapping in fabric by
Taria
I came across this link nosing around tonight:
http://www.jennywrenpaperie.com/wrapping.php
If you give gifts to quilter friends this is
a great how to using fabric as the 'paper'.
You could use tablecloths or napkins too depending
on size and gift. Just some fun ideas to keep
wrapping paper use...

Nothing to lose, right? by
Terri
Well, I went and did it. After being out of work for months, and being
prodded yet again to sell my work, I finally let myself get talked into
trying it for real. I have a friend who travels the crafts show circuit in
the west doing
who told me of a show with a very small entry fee of $20.00 and...

Quilting!! Finally by
Sunny[_2_]
Please send me good thoughts and lots of energy. I am finally quilting
my "Remember Me" Challenge wallhanging. Nobody who sees it will ever
know by looking how much work and time went into this simple, not very
good wallhanging. But I know. I put on designn pieces and then took
them off. I changed...

OT Sweet Tea by
NightMist
After some years of work I have finally got DH off of those instant
iced tea mixes, and drinking iced tea that is actual iced tea. The
only thing is he prefers sweet tea. He makes it by infusing the tea
into a sugar solution to make a concentrate, but I am wondering if
anybody has a recipe that...

Christmas time is coming by
Polly Esther
One of my favorite things to give at Christmas is cookies or pralines
wrapped in holiday fabric. I really wasn't Christmas shopping but happened
upon a couple that I just must share with you. Whether your giving includes
a simple pinked wrapping or a king-size quilt, these are just precious....

sporging explained by
joanb
"Sporging is effectively newsgroup spam - there is no cure apart from
a moderated group (and that frequently doesn't work as some sites
don't do moderation properly).
However depending on the news reader software you can filter out the
sporger - unless they are using autogenerated poster names in...
