Hello to all & a Crazy Quilt Delimma by
Linda H.
Hi everyone, I'm new to this group. I've been sewing/knitting/
crocheting since I was a child, & come from a long line of sewers.
Heres the dilemma:
I've inherited a number of crazy quilts made by my great grandmother &
her daugheter (my grandmother). The problem is that she made them
small, to...

how many sewing machines? by
Mary
From reading various posts about sewing machines, I gather that many
people have a lot of sewing machines. How many sewing machines do
people really have? Do you actually use them all?

I got this from my exDIL and thought I would share.
TIPS ON PUMPING GAS (Good information)
I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in
California we are also paying higher, up to $3.50 per gallon. But my
line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are...

OT update by
maryd[_3_]
DH didn't get the job we were hoping for and seemed so promising. My DM
isn't doing well. She is in renal failure with a no dialysis order and has
an infection that caused her temp to spike near 105. Only if she can get
back to walking with a walker she will get to go home. To add to the...

OTStripey by
NightMist
For those who may have been wondering Stripey is going to be OK.
The blood work came back inicating hyperthyroidism, just as the vet
suspected.
So tomorow morning we pick up her pills, which are not too dear at
all, and begin the game of pilling the cat. It is all matter of
finding which method is...

New Find by
teleflora
OK, it's entirely possible I have finally found my holy grail when it comes
to marking dark fabric.
It's a Bohin Mechanical Chalk Pencil. I bought it Sunday at a quilt shop.
I had seen it on the internet, but I hesitated about ordering it. I bought
white, but I think you may be able to get...

Wall Worlds dropping fabrics by
Marie Dodge[_2_]
I just found out today I'll have to drive to a nearby city to buy fabrics
from Wal*Mart. Some of their smaller stores got rid of the fabric dept. and
much of their sewing notions. What a disappointment as my nearest WM store
is only 10 miles away. :*( The other store is twice that distance.

brand of Fusible Webbing?
I had something I had bought yards and yards of years ago at a Ben Franklin

Have tried a few other things... but have not been happy with them.
I'm ready to start a new project... I am very excited... but will need
bunches and bunches of...

Survey please... and the question is.... by
Kate G.[_2_]
How do you (assuming you do!) label your quilts?
Do you only label quilts you are giving away?
Do you label every quilt you make?
Do you hand write something on a piece of fabric?
Embroider by hand or machine your text?
Print it on fabric using your computer?
Do you fuse it on? Do you...

OT magic plant query by
NightMist
OK, since this group knows everything I figured I might as well ask.
I am trying to find out what the plant Papa Jim calls "cruel man of
the woods" is. It's a southeastern North American plant.
Google gave me one return on it, and darn it that is not good enough!
I mean I have seen scholarly...

New Sewing Machine by
Kamalaleah[_2_]
Tonight was my quilt guilds annual auction. I was being very good and
not bidding on anything, saving myself for a basket of quilting goodies
and fabric I had my eye on. Things seemed to be going for lot less than
last year. When a 1938 Singer came up, some how so did my bid card. I
got it for...

Bosch Nexxt 100 washer questions? by
Kay Lancaster
My MIL and I were out today looking for a new washer and dryer set for her--
both of us agree her current toploader is truly loathsome. I have
LG frontloaders and mostly like them quite well, but found a pair of
Bosch at Lowe's that seem to be well put together. I really like my
Bosch stove, but...
