Prym snap fastener directions by
Kate
I have a Prym snap fastener that has always worked well, except, IIRC,
for the "anorak" or "camping" snaps. I don't use the set very often
since lately I don't get to sew often enough, but I've never had a
problem picking it up and remembering how to use it. Until today. I
laid the box out in...

I enjoy using men's ties for sewing and crafts. by
[email protected]
I really save money by using men's ties for sewing and crafts. The
recycled ones are very inexpensive source of quality material for
trim. The fabrics used in ties are so beautiful! That's a source of
fine trim that many people have never given any thought to, and
they're certainly a lot more...

Stretchers! by
Crewella
Hi.
I'm doing some tapestry work that when finished, I would like to fix and
display on stretchers. The stretchers I have in mind are composed of two
wooden frames, one to fit inside the other and the material to be caught
between the two frames then stapled to the back of the smaller frame. I...

Anyone have both the Rose and Platinum 770? by
Eric Sanders
I just ended up buying a Rose as well as the Platinum 770 on ebay.
Sheesh, I'm too impulsive. Anyway, I will be reselling one of them.
I know that the 770 doesn't have embroidery capability, but how useful
is the Rose without the reader? It came with the extra card#30.
I checked out the 770 at...

Opinions wanted on best sewing machine for beginner by
QuiltShopHopper
Hello,
I want to sew cotton clothes, quilts, and light sewing. I have a Riccar
that doesn't work well: I can't get the quilt sandwich under the walking
foot without a fight, and then it won't sew correctly through the quilt
sandwich, so I end up making up new curse words just for this machine. ...

Stitch Witchery REMOVAL by
gouda
Help! I used Stitch Witchery to add a border on a skirt, which I have
subsequently removed from the skirt. The inside hem now has leftover
Stitch Witchery all over it, which has generated giant snags in my
brand new pantyhose!
How on earth do I remove this stuff???
Thanks!

I have a request for some prayers for my dear cousin, the same age as me,
that had sinus surgery last month, but is now in hospital in ICU at Mass
General from an aneurysm. I have been praying since I found out, but now
just wanted to ask you kindly folks to pray along with me.
TIA

Help finding costuming book please by
Diana Curtis
There was a book I used to love to check out from the library, a big, thick
book with gold color cover, and tons of black and white drawings of garments
throughout history. It seemed to be a fairly new book in the early 70s.
Does this ring any bells with anyone? I can not remember the name or...

I recently made a jumper where I cut the bodice on the bias to better utilize
the stripe in the material. I then made buttonholes in the front of the jumper
and the ones on the bias part became stretchy. What would you experts suggest
to stabilize buttonholes on bias fabrics? Also, when lining a...
