Do you starch? by
Tricia
Do you use starch on your quilting fabrics? Why or why not? If you
do, how do you do it (spray, liquid, aerosol)? Certain brands? Any
recommendations?
What does it affect?
Tricia
(sick of sloppy cuts and considering using starch in the hopes of
crispness)

Who raided my stash? (kinda OT) by
Tricia
Okay, Fess up! Who snuck into my stash and took the new FQ I bought a
week or so ago specifically to "squish" someone with? =P
It's either been a stash raid, or I'm loosing my already tenuous grip
on my sanity =)
Baffled,

Flower stitcher and the Janome 6500 by
Sally Swindells
I have tried my 'flower stitch gizmo' on my Janome 6500, but can't
get it to work. I used to use on my old Janome, but it doesn't seem to
like the 6500
I fit it on, set prog. 08 (zigzag) - all ok until I drop the feed
dogs.
The 6500 (or at least mine!) then changes the display and won't zig
zag....

question about machine price by
Marissa Vignali
this guy in my lab comes to me the other day and tells me his girlfriend
wants a sewing machine for Xmas to do some home decor stuff, and I
quickly geared him away from new Singers and towards used
Vikings/Berninas/Pfaffs. So he did some research locally and sent me
this link today to see if I...

Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler the Fall/Winter by
[email protected]
Hello everyone
Living outside of the US sometimes has its restrictions; like magazines
and access to newsstands.
Would some kind soul be willing to pick up a copy of the fall/winter
issue of the BHG Quilt Sampler magazine for me?
I'd either pay for it or trade or whatever you'd like

Contest for making a purse by
She in PA
I am in a contest at my Guild to make a purse. They gave us two different
colors of fabric. The rules are we have to use some or all of this fabric in
a tote, pure or handbag. We can design our own or use a pattern. We have
until June to get it done. It will be shown at our dinner in June.
It...

Kindergarteners and Color Theory by
frood
Giles was working on her "homework" today, and became quite upset when she
couldn't find a brown crayon. I dug through the crayon bin, and pulled out
several brown crayons. She tried each one, and said each time "this isn't
brown!" Ok so the wrappers didn't say "brown", but if I was making a...

Birthday S.E.X. and sewing by
David & Barbara Schmidt
I'd been saving up some money to take myself on a little spree at the LQS.
I went ahead and went yesterday. I got several yards of Moda Marble
Swirls (My all time favorite fabric I think) in various colors, black,
cranberry, 2 shades of purple, and cream for my stash. They've been out
of the Blues...

OT Southern Missouri Question by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Hey, Jan! I *live* in West Plains! DDH drives to Springfield in about
1.5 hrs. I take about 1.75 hrs. when I drive. It's right at 100 miles
from my house.
Are you coming here??? Is it to check out the Gammill quilting
machines??? :-)

Jennie Rayment spoke at our guild yesterday. What a delightfully funny
woman! I enjoyed her lecture at the afternoon meeting so much, I went
back to the evening lecture. Usually the program is the same at both
meetings, but Jennie had two different lectures for us; both were fun to
listen to. I...
