How to cast with alginate? by
\Alex Bobotek
I'm having trouble casting reduced-size objects using alginate.
The object is to make a pair of earrings about 2/3 the size of a
pendant that I made a rubber mold from.
I have made alginate miniatures by troweling
wet alginate in the mold, removing it once it gels, and letting it dry
to shrink. ...

spiral drill, hand crank drill, and the kind that uses a stick and
rope. I have a Dremel and don't want to spend on a flex shaft yet.
What is the best bet for a...

use for casting. I read somewhere that 50% of "new" silver grain needed to
be used when melting down the scap. Does new silver need to be mixed in
with the scap? And why? Does the silver become brittle or too hard? Is...
