Janome Memory Mate 8000 Workbook by
Big Rhino
My wife is trying to locate a workbook for the Janone - New Home - Memory
Mate 8000 machine. We found one place for a used book - in New Zealand.
That would work, but she hopes to get her hands on one a little sooner.
Sources (other than Janome - they are out at the...

Cliparts, Philosophical question... by
William Morris
Thank you, Ann. I was a little afraid my questions and their intent would
be misconstrued and I'd start some sort of flaming jihad. You answered my
questions in the same spirit they were asked, and I appreciate that.
rec.crafts.textiles.marketplace eh? I'll check that out, though I kind of
like...

Sewing Machine for quiltmaking ? by
Karen Totten
Can anyone give the scoop on a good machine for craft sewing, mainly for
piecing and machine-quilting? I would like to get the best quality for this
type of usage. I'm not interested in fancy embroidery options, just a good
range of fancy stitches maybe a few built in embroidery options. My...

Sewing machine for canvas? by
Jeffrey P. Vasquez
Greetings all,
I would be infinitely appreciative of a recommendation for a consumer
sewing machine able to sew canvas. I am just looking to use it for boat
canvas repair and the odd cover now and then and am not looking to put
heavy hours on it.
Many thanks for you help! -jeffrey

Threading the waters carefully... by
Dr. Landerstein
Greetings everyone,
I will have a large list of sewing machine items to trade, and I wanted to
know first if it will be okay to advertise here.
I am almost sure that the answer will be yes, but I can never be too
careful. So I rather check out before I get stabbed by a sewing machine
needle! ...

Welcome Sewists and new posters! Here are some guidelines to posting to the

Karate Gi by
William E. Davenport
Looked high and low but could not find a pattern for my husband and son's
karate gi (traditional uniform). I'm a fair hand at sewing but don't know
how to make a pattern.
Any help would be appreciated.

What's the server equivalent to a Singer 301/401? by
Malcolm Spann
Is there a serger that is the equivalent to what the Singer 301/401's
are to sewing machines? A solid, versatile, all metal, gear driven,
unbreakable machine that will work on both light and heavy fabrics,
and that I'll be handing down to my kids/grandkids?
Is there a FAQ for choosing a serger,...

Help! Tension suddenly stopped working! by
malia
I don't know what happened. I've had this sewing machine for less than
a year, but I haven't used it much. I've been using it lately now and
then, and it's been working fine. And tonight... I finished cutting
the fabric to make the most ruffly bedskirt ever... and... *sob* all
of a sudden... The...

Brother e touch embroiderer by
Frances
I have just seen an advert for the Brother e touch embroiderer and
would like others opinions on it. I already have a sewing machine
which I love and don't really want to change it but at the same time
would like to be able to do embroidery. The great selling point in the
ad I saw was the Winnie...

Haven't sewn in years. by
I am looking forward to getting back into sewing and crocheting after I
finish school. I used to sew from patterns, just for myself. Is the
tracing wheel still being used and anything else new?

The Happy Hooker/ long by
[email protected]
Here it is, mend it/fix it time again. This week's theme: 'A Stitch in
Time Saves Nine'.
I'm not sure what 'Nine' are referred to; it sure ain't nine minutes;
as you will see, this is self-explanatory.
The odd repair I describe today is the mend of a nice, thick fringed
rug. As well as...
