Your Word for Today 12/18 by
Karen C - California
From one of the things I was proofreading today:
Plethora -- from Greek plethora "fullness" --
1. a bodily condition characterized by an excess of blood and marked by
turgescence and a florid complexion
2. an often undesirable or hampering superfluity (Excess, Profusion)
3. a defect of wood...

Happy Dance - Finally! by
Ellice
Just a little Happy Dance. I finished up the "Harvest of Berries" Sampler by
Betsy Stinner, Earth Threads that I started in October. Happy to finish it,
only had to frog one blackwork section - 2 times. Once - I was thinking
about it because I realized that I was off by 2 threads on the right -...

'Twas the week before Christmas, well nearly by
Carolyn Wagner
;-) My best friend is in the midst of not only waterproofing and carpeting
her very large, finished basement, but also completely re-doing her main
bathroom, hoping to have it done by Christmas. Oh yeah, she has 3 kids under
10 and a mom with Alzheimers! Talk about timing.....

good ones?
Thanks!

BE book recommendation needed by
Hexe
I have Maria Freitas' books "Apples to Zinnias" and "The Art of
Dimensional Embroidery"; plus "Take A Stitch" by Rosalie Wakefield. I
don't care for RW's book at all neither the instructions nor
illustrations are clear; not a book for beginners. I love "Apples to
Zinnias" but her second book...

Dulcie Burns
I have just heard that my first Great Grandchild is going to be a girl!
Just what we all wanted. We are all so very excited and pleased.
(Especially since GD had a miscarriage with last pregnancy.)
Now, I am not an expert stitcher, just a darn good intermediate
stitcher. What do you all recommend...

Attn Darla . . . need word help by
Dianne Lewandowski
I looked this up, but am still stuck. Being our resident wordsmith, can
you tell me:
I know that "premiere" is for a first performance
I know that "premier" is first in order
But can other things be a "premiere" if it's an unveiling and first in
order?
Boy, it's hard to ask a question when you...

OT- Home Appliance Happy Dance by
Ellice
Okay, I just have to share this -even if it's ridiculous and I never, ever
in my life thought I'd have a conversation about a Vacuum Cleaner. Several
months back there was some talk about vacuums, pet hair, etc. Anyhow, we've
had a lot of problems with our "good" hoover just not working, getting...

OT, suitcase on flight by
Boohoo1971
Since we can no longer lock bags that are to go into cargo, I have been using a
twist tie to hook the two zippers on my bag together, thinking that the zipper
would not catch on something and come open. On the last flight, before I could
stop him, my husband got my carry-on bag shipped in cargo. ...

Interesting Needlework Containers by
Lula
Reading some of the recent posts on biscuit tins and storage cabinets,
got me to thinking about the way I've stored my needlework supplies.
I love all sorts of small drawers and cabinets and have several larger
pieces such as the DMC 2000 cabinet (anniversary gift) for storage.
It's so neat to...
