Pictures at last unconventional applique by
Cheryl
Thanks to some kind help from nzlstar I now have at least some pics online.
The Mardi Gras quilt is still under construction, and has hit a prolonged
pause because so many people come to visit or do classes I don't get much
time to work on it. There is a pencil design of the quilt as I plan...

Happy basting table dance by
marbles_2
Well, after rolling around on the floor basting one half of a full-size
quilt and discovering sore crawling-on-the-floor arm and chest muscles
(who knew you use those muscles?) I took your advice and made myself a
basting table! We have two hollow-core doors that had once been closet
doors before...

OT .. Christmas Decorations by
Cheryl
I am getting some emails (14 and counting) about the Xmas Decorations so I
figured it was easier to post a general reply if that's OK?
This started when I posted pics of some beaded trees we made last year. The
other decorations are our project for this year. Quick, easy, suitable for
scraps,...

Happy Dance by
Tamara
I have been quilting for years but have never sewn on my own binding. I
always have my quilts quilted by others and either they or a friend sews
the binding on. Well last night I decided to try it as the last of my
binding sewing on friends moved away. So I got my book out and did it.
It was a...

Lycra satin stitches (A quilter has done this before) by
VegasQuilter
Hello
I am in need of help. I have a customer who is a member of a rock group and
needs some satin stitches (to look like Frankenstein) on top of lycra sport
type pants (close fitting). I have tried everything that I know and am not
having any luck. I know it can be done because he has a pair...

What would you do? by
Marcella Peek
Here's the set up.
For about a year I taught an applique class at two local quilt shops. I
made two of the same blocks and they hung for the sample in each shop.
While I taught the classes I made two more thinking I would have a nice
wall hanging when I was done with the teaching.
Yesterday I...

BOM blocks finished by
Sally Swindells
August BOM blocks finished. My photography leaves much to be desired.
Even taking pictures outside where the light should be brighter, my
block colours always seem to come out dark (ok on my ordinary snaps).
The green of the ladybird's body is a normal dark grren, not nearly
black! Have tweeked it...

Red Work by
Patti
I wonder if anyone could tell me whether there is a block which is
traditionally used as the alternating block for a red work quilt? I
just need to do a small piece of a red work quilt, but would like to do
it authentically if possible.
Oh, and is there anything which is 'always' used as the...

I need cheerleaders by
Jalynne
I hate these swap blocks...LOL. I'm working on 36 blocks for a swap (my
last big one for a very long time!), and they each have 9 3D flying
geese units in them. They're so cute, but what a pain to press.
well....I have 11 blocks finished, but there are 25 that remain, and
more than half of those...

My mother LOVED the blocks, so I made this quilt for her, for her birthday!
And quilters, if you are hesitant to use Minkey as backing....don't! It
turned out wonderful, and I was lucky to find it at 40% off!

Quilt Quotations by
Liz A.
Does anybody have any good quilt related quotations to put on labels.
I'm trying to do two baby quilt labels. I thought I had bookmarked them
but can't seem to find them now that I need them and a google search
isn't bringing up much.
Thanks,
LizA.

What I'm working on by
frood
I'm taking a week off from making samples for my Block Party (I'm the guild
committee for this) to make this quilt for my mom. She just turned 75 last
week, and has been asking me for a quilt for some time. Now that my shoulder
has recovered somewhat, I started working on hers. It will be...

I've made four handbags in the last few weeks.
I've SO enjoyed myself. I got the pattern at Joann's.

You can catch her on QNN today at 12:30pm ET doing
the Gracie Handbag.
The one's I've been doing is the Towne Handbag.
