Alterations and Labor Day Goodies by
[email protected]
I was out on Wed., picking up some repair materials for my Mum's
clothes which she left with me. Nice lined wool slacks and a skirt, a
former purchase; the pants lack slightly over 10 inches meeting in the
front, just over her belly. Every where else, they fit fine. The
protruding stomach is the...

Dinner! by
[email protected]
Ha, bet you're thinking this is OT, right?
I found a beautiful deep, true red damask tablecloth and 21--yes,
count 'em, 21! matching napkins for $2.00! Most of them never used.
Plus a delicate white hand-crocheted cloth for $1.00. Feels like linen
thread was used making it, and looks like it was...

bra-making fabric store in East Bay? by
wurstergirl
Does anyone remember there having been a store in the San Francisco Bay
Area East Bay that specialized in fabrics and supplies for bra-making?
I remember one having been in the Alameda/Emeryville or maybe San
Leandro kind of area, but can't find it in the yellow pages.
Thx,
Pora

keyhole buttonholes by
Liz
My husband offered to buy me a sewing machine for christmas, and we went
looking at them on the weekend. We ended up buying one because it was on
special -- a Husqvarna Viking Lily. Took it home and played with it; it took
a bit of getting used to, with quite a different way of threading...

Hi...actually looking for a millinery forum by

But all searches come back to here. Any help? I have a website devoted
to decorative feathers that would be a good source for any milliners
and would like to make it available as a potential resource.
