Hello from France! by
SaligoBay
Hi everyone, just dropping by to say Bonjour!
Lots of patchwork here in France. In my group just now we're doing
"quilts d'amitié", or friendship quilts, where each person chooses a
theme, and everyone else does a block for it. I've only done 4 so far
- letters of the alphabet, South Sea...

First picture is of our faithful and wonderful cocker Kelly. She was
14 and a half years old and getting very sick. Monday we finally
decided that her time was over. It would have been a much more
difficult decision if it wasn't...

My DD called yesterday to ask what kept her nephew home from
school on friday. He had spent the night with us, and I watch Rachel
during the day. Her daughter came down with a cold, and now SHE's
getting it too. Chris is scheduled for a c-section on friday 6/2 to

They're DONE!!!! by
Boca Jan
They are beautiful! I find a twin is the largest quilt that I can manage to
machine quilt also. I periodically look at SM to see if any make a longer
arm that would help out. I would love to be able to do queens. I can't
afford a long arm quilting machine nor do I have the space for it, so I
either...

America's most wanted couple in my backyard! by
teleflora
Well, figuratively. They were captured 15 miles away across the state line.
The little girl they had with them, came from Pittsburg, which is up the
road a mile. I think I know the little girls mom! how weird is that?
Cindy I knew NOTHING about any of this til this morning.

Sliding rulers by
Boca Jan
I have had to re-cut too many things today because my ruler slipped. I have
been pressing down hard and trying to put my fingers where they can prevent
this, but inevitably it happens. How do you prevent your rulers from
slipping without covering up the markings?

Celtic Knot Happy Dance by
Anne in CA
My version of one of Mary Whitehead's Gordian Knot patterns is done done
done and finished! Last night I finished sewing on two hanging sleeves
so it can go either portrait-wise or landscape-wise. It is hanging
vertical in my current entry hall but it will be getting a new home as
soon as I do so...

OT but still sewing by
NightMist
This was so stupid I had to share.
I was approached to make a fetish corset.
No problem.
She wants the outer done in black leather.
No problem.
She wants a big flashy zipper up the front.
A pain in the behind, but OK.
She wants the zipper to be functional.
Say what?

Magic Tile Happy Dance! by
Dannielle
I don't remember the exact start date, but it's been a few years. I
know it's completion date though....it's May 26, 2006! It will soon
travel to New York to my old church for a raffle prize at their annual
Craft Fair this coming November.
But, it's done! It's done! It's done! And you can see...

Piano Quilt for Silent Auction by
Kim E
A while back, I asked for help to find the piano quilt pattern. It was
in McCall's Quilting, Feb 2005. Thanks to everyone who helped find it!
Anyway, it was finished for the Silent Auction on Saturday (OK, it went
into the washing machine at 3:30AM). It took over $80 in fabric and at
least 100...

Re-thinking Batik by
Polly Esther
What a wonderful surprise. I always thought that batik was stiff, scratchy
and other ills. Wrong. Today, I was inspecting sweet quilts to deliver to
the baby shelter. I ran my serious lights and hands over everything we were
giving (thanks and hugs to everyone who loved the little ones with...

EQ5 help please by
Boca Jan
I have just started to learn my EQ5 program with the intentions of laying
out my Dresden Plate pattern using the materials I already have to create
this pattern in EQ5. Does anyone know if that block is already in the
program? As a neophyte, I can't seem to find out if it is here or not.

For the last couple of weeks I've been having a h#ll of a time trying to
read this list. More often than not when I go to open a post, all I get is
that stupid hourglass, and the messages won't open at all. Anybody know
what causes this? There were a couple responses to my query about...
