Sykhook's String Stand is GREAT!!! by
[email protected]
Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Long ago (and not so far away) I came across the fantastic Skyhook string stand. I still use one from time to time. I don't have time to scroll through all of the messages looking for an active link to the instructions, and was wondering if anyone knows where one...

Happy Dance - Finally! by
Ellice
Just a little Happy Dance. I finished up the "Harvest of Berries" Sampler by
Betsy Stinner, Earth Threads that I started in October. Happy to finish it,
only had to frog one blackwork section - 2 times. Once - I was thinking
about it because I realized that I was off by 2 threads on the right -...

Wish me Luck! New Glasses for Stitching by
Lynne M.
Tomorrow I go visit the eye doctor, and thanks to some very helpful
suggestions from people here, will ask for special monovision glasses
for stitching. I will take in some of my stitching and see what they
can do. The idea of actually being able to see about 2 feet is
almost kinky; maybe I could...

last night's stitching by
Susan Hartman[_2_]
What did you work on last night?
I put about two hours into the latest freebie from blue ribbon designs.
I'm doing it over one on 32 count linen as a Christmas ornie, and it's
working up beautifully. I love the "neatness" of it...crisp designs and
exactitude.

Star Six Strand by
Suzanne
Has anyone here heard of a cotton floss called Star Six Strand by the
American Thread Co.? I was just going through my needelwork stuff and
found an old plastic zip bag with 20 skeins of this in it. I'd even
forgotten I had it; I think I got it from a relative or friend a long
time ago.

Sunset Designs Jiffy Stitchery crewel kit help needed by
Laury Walkey
About two months ago I adopted three Sunset Designs Jiffy Stitchery
crewel kits from the local Sally Ann. They look to be part of a series
of oriental-influenced songbirds and flowers, published in 1980. One
was partially finished -- _Hummingbird and Azaleas_ (#488CH) but the
remaining wool and...

Cross-Stitch Page-A-Day Calendar by
Joseph Hurley
Hi all. I have a question I need some guidance on.
I was at the mall today and the calendar store was having its usual
after-New-Year's 50% off everything (read we want to get rid of everything
so we can close up shop till next Christmas season) sale, and saw a new
thing, the Cross-Stitch...

Stitcher's World - September 1999 issue by
Katherine
Does anyone have a copy of the September 1999 issue of Stitcher's World? I
am trying to find a pattenr of a counted stitch snowman that I was told
might be in this issue. It looks like it was worked on canvas - the colors
are mostly shades of green/orange/red. Supposedly this issue...

Vision and needlework by
Seanette Blaylock
Just had an eye exam today (first in about four years, give or take).
Good news is that my current glasses (new ones due in 7-10 working
days) are now too strong, meaning I'm less near-sighted than I was
last time I got glasses. Bad news is I've added a new problem, namely
some astigmatism in one...

OT- Tia Mary - sewing help! by
Carolyn Wagner
I posted over at the sewing group with no answer, so I was hoping you could
help me. I am in the midst of my first pair of insulated drapes (1 panel
done). They are just a plain panel, no ties, about 115"x62", made of a
velvety-suede material, the innerlining and the lining, and are quite
heavy. I...

Hi.
Do you still have a copy of Marty Links Prima Ballerinas? They have been out of print and my daughters who dance ballet were hoping that I make them the whole series.
Thank you.
There's something similar by him on eBay. Not sure...

Indigo Rose and Catherine Strickler by
[email protected]
Does anyone know if Catherine Strickler of Indigo Rose is still designing or in business? I've tried to contact her through an old e-mail address and phone number but the e-mail came back 'undeliverable' and the phone number is out of service.
I did one of her scissor fobs some years ago, and...

Round Robin by
Rhea
Many years ago, I was an avid reader of this group. I was involved with a
Round Robin that was formed within this group and it was a wonderful
experience. I had to let go of this group when I went back to get my master's
degree. I finished my degree in 2000, but then my husband has contratracted...

Student loans Banned from the Garden!--very long by
Brenda Lewis
The Stafford Loan program is administered in two different ways. The
institution can elect to be a "Direct Lending" school in which case the
loan funds are sent by the government directly (electronically) to the
school. Banks, per se, are not involved. Other schools follow the
older method where...
