Does anyone 'resue' yarn? by
Sandra Rose
For many years I could not afford to shop for balls of yarn - instead I would go to thrift stores, and find sweaters hand made of
attractive yarn, and dissasemble them...
I've rescued many 2.00 sweaters that became socks and mittens and slippers and scarves over the years ;-)
Could not have kept...

Knitting bug -- OUCH! by
Melinda Meahan - take out TRASH to reply
Okay, I'm knitting this dishcloth in a basketweave pattern (easy
enough), trying to do it the properly and right-handed so I can get
muscle memory into play and then with the next dishcloth I am going to
try learning Continental style, since I read lots of places that
Continental style goes...

am thinking about next year and a project for myself.
Has anyone thought of what they are going to do for themselves next
year. I remember that this year I didn't get my new years cast on
project completed but am going to try...

OT Christmas Stamps by
G.Kelly
Is it me the Christmas spirit or what ? Last year when I bought my bundle
of Christmas stamps the young lady gave me $20 too much change- and was
amazed when I returned it. Would you believe this year ( at another Post
office) the young man gave me almost double the amount of stamps I bought...

My mossy scarf by
Qintes
Good morning! My name is Pam. I'm a 32 y/o mommy of a 4 y/o. And a
nurse from Pennsylvania. I taught myself to knit from a book and I'm
moving along fairly well. I can do the basic stuff but I haven't been
able to knit cables or anything more advanced than ribbing. Oh

Hello Everyone
I am new on this newsgroup so I aplogize if I am not following proper

People". I feel in love with one sweater but I don't want to buy the
book for one...

SSK clarification.... by
Noreen's Knit*che
Not just for newbies, some patterns don't clarify the instruction SSK...
and I thought it might be a good idea to do so:
SSK is *not* slip, slip, knit (even though that *might* be your first
"guess")
SSK *is* :
slip next 2 sts from left needle to right needle, one at a time as if to
knit. Insert...

Michaels v. local yarn stores by
Islands
I support local stores. I don't shop at Wal-Mart or Sam's. I try to
shop at stores that treat their employees fairly (not sure what to do
with the supermarkets and their new two-tier system for new employees).
Anyway, I always bought my yarn at my local yarn store and paid highway
robbery prices....

They are soft rounds that are iced and decorated. It just wouldn't...

Knitting tubes - tools? by

Hi
I have a project going on knitting tubes (4 stiches) to make my own TUBU
