Hungarian Needlework??? by Angel
Does anyone know of a good source on Hungarian/Romany needlework. My b-mom is of Hungarian/Romany descent, I've never really done anything for her (since I found her) and would like to make her something. -- Angel My family are the golden threads running through the tapestry of my life. My...

Way OT--Reading by Lucille
Subject: Reading A friend just sent me this fascinating insight into how our minds handle word recognition. Just read the sentence below, straight through, without giving it any thought, and you will see how that great apparatus in your head handles these things. Incredible!

Hershey by M Andrasco
Here's hoping Isabel will go east, north, south - anywhere except Hershey and routes to it from wherever we are all traveling from. Went on to Cats website tonight - no message, no email but their MITI schedule for Hershey is posted! Now, I'm sorry I won't be there all day Thursday since there...

Fabric Help by Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys, Does anyone out there have any leftovers of Blue Spruce/French Blue Belfast Linen from Zweigert they would be willing to let me have for $$ or trade? I have some ideas for the border on the FireHouse Angel and wanted to "play" with some of the fabric. I didn't post this under any of the...

NWS in London by Sorceress
I have a few days in London next week and was hoping someone could point me to a good needlework shop or two. In addition to yarn and fibers, I'm hoping to check out bobbin lace making supplies. Any leads would be appreciated. --Regards --Anne

embroidery needles by Marian Poller
HI, I'm going through all my crewel needles trying to discover my favorites. I've come up with two I like: Richard Hemming and Bohin. I'd like to find out what you think of them or if there are better ones? I also have some Milward but not very happy with them. thanks. Marian

FireHouse Angel: fabric size by Felice Friese
Victoria, I had a half-cut (27x36) sent to Tia Mary so she would have some extra to play around with in the finishing if she needed it, but I don't know how wide she will cut it down to for the project. Over to you, Tia Mary. Felice

FireHouse Angel Daily 9-12-03 by Dianne Lewandowski
In my not so humble opinion - since the piece will be washed and pressed - the size of the needle isn't a consideration. Let people use what is comfortable for them to use. Just ask Tia Mary. We both use all sorts of "lengths" of fiber and all sorts of needle sizes and it doesn't affect...

Spun silk thread question by Cyn
I won some silk thread at an auction, and I'm wondering what to do with it. The label on the silk says it has been hand spun using a drop spindle, and dyed with a natural indigo/thiox. The back of the label says dyebath, 1 sr dip. It came out as a varigated fibre, and looks pretty cool. I've...
