Looking for Stitching Journal by
Janet Walker
Hey,
I know by now everyone has heard about my house fire. I'm looking for a
stitching journal. I previously had 2 - 1 was completely full. I've
contacted Nordic Needle and Mary Jane's and was told it's been discontinued.
Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell to me or any shop...

Orange Cat--update by
Caryn
sigh
I did have to frog! Adding more just emphasized how wrong my color choices
were!
But it's frogged now, the new oranges (more tan orange) are working, the cat
does look a lot more like JoJo now.

Pre-washing embroidery? by
anne
I have heard conflicting opinions on this. I received an embroidery kit as a
gift. Do I wash the embroidery fabric before stitching? Also, is it
necessary to iron out folds in the fabric before stitching?

Nervous happy dance! by
Linda Wright
Yesterday, I went to my LNS (where they know me by sight, name and
dd's favorite animal - the flamingo!) and they asked me to do some
model stitching! I am so excited (and a bit nervous too)!
I am going to do the Lizzie Kate June Flip-It and another one which I
don't recall the name of right now...

British Mag "Needlework" august '95 - where? by
Jeanine3
I'm researching Or Nué and was told to look at the British Magazine
"Needlework" issue for August 1995 for a great article. I can't seem to
find anywhere to order a back issue and am assuming it's out of print.
I've searched several places including ebay but am coming up empty. Can
anyone give me...

When did newsgroups become places for political grandstanding? by
Lily
Ok, I disagree with some opinions, agree with others, but overall I TOTALLY
disagree with these groups becoming places for discussing this sort of
stuff. Politics should stay in political newsgroups - I resent using my
download allowance to read this crap.
Cant we please stay somewhere in the...

Tea Dyeing by
Suzanne
IIRC, someone a while back was asking about using tea to dye linen
with. I found a good set of instructions for it in a Stitcher's World
magazine (TAM). Whoever was asking before, if you're still looking I
could copy these for you.

Firehouse Angel Question by
Pat Lerch
Hi, I've started stitching on the Firehouse Angel and I have a questions.
How many strands of the PT gold should I use? I ask because I started
stitching with two strands and thought it looked too "bulky", especially
where the cloak folds on itself and you're stitching the gold between rows
of...

I hate to post something from Reuters like this, but I don't have the URL,
and it was how I received it. In view of the discussion on cicadas, I
thought it was interesting.

CATS - Santa Clara by
Linn Skinner
We're looking forward to seeing RCTN'ers at Santa Clara CATS show. We've
taken a larger booth for this show so we can demonstrate some of the lesser
known forms of needlework and give you a chance to try a few things before
you buy from us.
If you've never seen someone darn a sock, just come on...

Hello,
I am looking for discontinued Lanarte charts. Although specificially
looking for #33648 & #33649, I love the Lanarte patterns, and would be
interested in others if they are available. The two mentioned were
sold as kits (medium sized), and are part of a set of four pictures of

Sharon S. Pope by
Suzanne
Can anyone tell me where to find Sharon S. Pope's designs? She has a
beautiful American kestrel design in a Stitcher's World back issue
(thanks again, Mark! grin), but I can't seem to find much about her
online. It also doesn't say much in the magazine, not even what
company she designs...
