OT - Laura Gilbert in Chesapeake VA! by
Johanna Gibson
Your box of fabric has arrived! My friend Keith brought it over,
and we had a good time looking at it all. I think it is decorator
fabric, because there is a "shiny" side to it, and it is heavier than
quilting cotton. I think the first project from it will be some
cushion covers!
Thank you very...

One of those Duhhhhhh moments..... by
TwinMom
I think you all will appreciate this one. I was repacking a quilt kit, after
washing all the pieces, and trying to match up the yardages on the pattern
with my pile of fabrics from multiple sources. Ahh, I thought to myself, I
need a yardage marked ruler on my fabric cabinet, you know 1/3, 5/8,...

Question of the day! by
Terbear
I was trying to figure out which I enjoy more....adding random fabrics to my
stash, or buying fabric for a certain project...I was stumped, and wondered
what other quilters thought on the subject, so my question to you is;
Which do you enjoy more, adding to your stash, or buying fabric for...

TracingMyRoots
I want to make an Amish Center Diamond wall hanging & hand quilt it.....but
need some advice.
What batting should I use so it won't beard? Cotton or polyester? What
brand?
I want to quilt it with black thread, like the Amish women used to do.
Should the thread be 100% cotton or a poly ? What...

Hey, y'all - mind if I sit in? by
Karen Johnson
It has been a long time since I've poked my head into rctq -- what, 12
months? 18 months? Maybe longer? I apologize for disappearing for
awhile, but the truth is it was just too hard for me to log on after
MeSue passed on. She just left too big a hole in my heart.
But it's great to see that a...

Anyone interested in a "get it done in 2005" challenge? by
Kate G.
Thought it might be fun to issue a challenge... We did something similar
in my MN guild.
You sign up and agree to finish (finish means done --quilted, binding and
label) a specific quilt or two (or 3 or four)!! by the end of 2005. I'd be
happy to keep the list. Individuals can enter as often...

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE by
Mr. King of Squishies
When I returned from the Dr. this afternoon I found something amazing
waiting for me in the living room. A box addressed to me from someone that I
didn't think I knew. As my wife, Queen of Squishies, waited expectantly I
opened it to find the most grand hug that I could imagine. I was awe...

Quilting tip by
Ellison
Howdy!
Today has been January 25.
This is just a friendly little reminder to those quilters who
insist on waiting until the last moment to get their quilty gifts ready
for delivery by Dec.25. You have 11 months, if you're planning for this
year.
....now returning you to your regularly scheduled...

Quilt Week day 5 Tuesday by
maryd
Had a little S.E.X. this morning...picked up a couple remnants and backing
for my mystery quilt at Joann's and flannel for a baby quilt at Wal-Mart.
After I got home, I put the flannel in the washer and sewed on the last
border on a donation quilt. This afternoon I pin basted 2 baby quilts...

Treadle Info by
NanaV
As I mentioned, I received a "Domestic" treadle machine. DH cleaned and
oiled it and it purrs but I couldn't get it to stitch since I can't get the
threading right (no manual). However, thanks to www.treadleon.net, I was
able to get additional oiling and care info as well as a phone number...
