acrlic yarn by
Dixie Sugar
Hi guys,
Am I the only one who uses acrylic yarn? Seems wool yarn is always
mentioned in posts. I use acrylic because wool makes me itch, it's cheaper,
and it is more readily available in my area. What don't I know about which
yarn to use?

Gansey sleeves by
Wooly
Say Aaron, are you planning a classic 7/8 sleeve length for your
gansey? I got my first sleeve finished early, though I need to rip
the cuff back to the "fast decreases" round and adjust up my stitch
count just a bit for a good fit. I did make a 7/8 sleeve, so the
(short) ribbing lands about 1"...

I clicked on your link yesterday, and my computer crashed. (No connection,
just the company doing upgrades!) However, I didn't get to see your FO.
Could you post it again, please?
Higs,
Katherine

best fiber/yarn for a man's scarf? by
Mystified One
I have a friend with COPD who could probably use a good winter scarf. What
fiber or brand would you reccommend? I'd like this to be really special.

As most of you know, my granddaughter is visiting. She came to the Knit Out
with me on Sunday and won a ball of Bernat Lulu yarn. Here is a pic of the
hat I made her today, and a skinny matching scarf will be coming soon
(smile).

Real, Wooly, Yarn by
I just got a shipment of gansey yarns from Iriss of Penzance.
These authentic British breed gansey yarns are as different from any wool
yarn that I have ever knit; as silk is different from wool. First, they are
stretchy beyond belief, which makes them a delight to knit fast and tight.
Second,...

Who let the dogs out? Sunday AM ramblings of a sleep-deprived woman by
Wooly
Has anyone knitted the Malin sweater from Herself's _In the Hebrides_?
Gauge is given in non-stockinette, instead over something called "sand
stitch" which on the other side is merely (knit 1, seed stitch 1)
ribbing. I'm knitting a little more tightly than gauge so I'm making
the size up from the...

Padding Cord for Irish Crochet? by
kmd
Anyone know if/where I can buy this?
I know that some experienced folks just use 3-4 strands of thread held
together, but I'm hoping that an actual cord exists somewhere that I
can buy while I'm learning. I figure that would be a whole lot easier
to ease into, then work my way up to home-grown...
