saw a crochet blanket on tv show--need help! by
ellegirl
There was this reality show on Fox, called "Simple Life," or
something.
Did anyone see the first episode, when these 2 girls were on a
plane...one of the girls was sleeping with this cute pink and white
crocheted blanket. I could tell it was the ripple pattern/chevron
pattern. I know my niece...

Successful Christmas scarf by
JudyTurpin
Turns out the scarf I made for DS#1's girl friend was a big success and she
wore it all day on Christmas inside and out. That was the black one I made
just in garter stitch using one strand of Lion Brand microspun and one strand
of Fun Fur, an eyelash yarn, together both in black. It took only...

Aud... by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi Aud!
I hope the squares please you. Honestly, I was worried about
them. But at least I know now that they are there safely.
This 6x6 thing is great way to use the ends of yarns and
"homeless yarns". I mean...Imagine that you have 1000 kg
yarn but not any idea what to do with it. That is...

Santa's Helper in Tennessee by
Michele
I just got the most adorable violet slippers in the mail today! They look
suspiciously like the crochet slippers Noreen has been discussing. I almost
requested that pattern, as I wanted some warmer slippers for myself. But the
pattern was crochet, and I knit.
Thank you so much! These will keep my...

Pirjo Ilvesvuori
CNN, if you hear me...Aud's things are on their way now. I
just hope she likes them. And guess who to thank for that?
Aino!!!! Oh yes. She invited me into her place and off I
went. I pass by a mailbox every time, so usually I post my
letters then if I have something to send.

New Year's Cast On by
JudyTurpin
I actually did cast on my Cast On project on New Years and completed the
twisted cable ribbing on the back. Now I must set this project aside for a
little while to finish the baby sweater I am making for someone before her baby
arrives - but I will be back to it as it is fun to do.

This messy knitter here again by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi ladies and gents!
Welcome if there is someone who is new. Congratulations if
someone has finished a project. And happy anniversary if
someone has a wedding anniversary in the near future.
That should wrap it all. I myself have been knitting and
watching videos lately. Sounds madness, but to me...

A "game" of color/colour.... by
Noreen's Knit*che
Scarey, but I had *another* FUN (and funny) range of thoughts....
There are two TV shows, the original Brit version: Changing Rooms, and it's
American "step-child": Trading Spaces.
Okay.... so.... we get to change rooms, or trade spaces... but we get to
'cheat'..... we get to tell each other what...

Anotherd source of spinning fiber by
Slinky
I ran into Lowe's last night for rat traps (long story) and had a run
through the Xmas leftovers aisle. One entire box of little 1oz
packets of some sort of fine angelhair stuff. Not spun glass, a type
of polymer. It has a LOT of texture and might not make a decent
sparkly blender, but at...

Wonderful Feeling by
Mischief
I just thought that I would have to let you know that I learned how to
do two-handed fair isle knitting on Sunday. My MIL had a video from a
knitting store and I watched it and within an hour I was able to do it
without much problem. Now to just find time to do it.

my own knitted sweater by
BDS2pds
For the first time since birth, I have a hand knit sweater for myself that I
did not knit. There is a tiny farm in Maryland where the whole sheep are grown
and the yarn made and it is soo soft I could not resist. I chose a sweater I
will never be willing to create-- one million bobbles on it-- I...

Anna Maria - crochet machines? by
noreens_knitche
Anna Maria, Could you either post the links you found to crochet-
machines, OR send them to me off-list? Becky's really got me thinking,
and if Don could see some schematics, he just 'might' be able to build a
smaller scale machine, rather than the commercial type you mentioned.
Hugs and TIA! Love,...

Knitting Question by
Misti and John
Hey ladies
I have a knitting question. How exactly do you work flat on circular
needles? The Learn to Knit book that I have says that after casting on,
knitting the first stitch joins the work, but doesn't say how not to join
it!
Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to knit myself a shawl,...
