OT A Christmas Carol Rant by
Tia Mary
OK -- one of my most favouritest Christmas carols is "Mary's Boy
Child". But -- and this seems to be a BIG "but" (not at all related to
MY butt which, by the way, IS big) -- anywhoo the BUT part is that I
like the calypso version of the song. I know that Boney M and The
Brothers Four recorded...

Congress Cloth Portraits & Figures, etc. by
[email protected]
I just have to share my latest project stitching on Congress cloth...I
really enjoy working on this type of "canvas" as it's much softer
than regular canvas plus the 24 count or mesh of this cloth is a nice
size too...relatively easy to see & being able to do a goodly amount
of detail.
Best stitch...

Annoying Symbols by
Sharon
Can someone tell me the reason why charts have to have symbols that
look so much alike so bloody close together. It's frustrating for
sure. I'm working on a rather big project and intermixed among the
wings of a fairy are symbols so much alike that I have to use my
magnifying glass each time I...

Where do you stitch? by
lewmew
I just got an email from Herschnerrs that shows a lady sitting at a
table stitching. It looks tiresome to me.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but most of the time, I stitch on
the couch. Where do you stitch? In a hardbacked straight chair or
someplace comfy?

Quick Hardanger question by
[email protected]
Hi everybody! I just wanted to ask a quick question. I'm working on a
small Hardanger doily as a Christmas present, and I'm at the
buttonhole edging (taking a deep breath at the mere thought). I'm
finding the corners a bit tricky, so I've been looking in my books for
tips. A couple of my books say...

All,
What's a father to do when his daughter works sooooo hard to create a
brand new knitting blog...and nobody has come to visit it yet? Of
course it's wonderful and you all should go check it out.
She is a recent college grad with a math major who would "like to
publish a math paper on the...

Oh, and I started the little freebie "Bloom where you're planted"

I want to try. I've also accumulated several books, including Di van Niekerk's

Ott lamps at Home Depot? by
Cheryl Isaak
I was looking for replacement bulbs for the porch lamp and I spotted the
"OTT Plant Lamp" and "OTT Natural Light Grow" bulbs. I think I've just found
myself a portable Ott Lamp and at a bargain price (compared to the craft
stores).

? for experienced beaders by
Joan E.
Hi all,
You may or may not remember back when I worked on the Indian chief for
my sister. Well, she's here and has it with her and she's gotten a lot
done since I fixed it for her.
I had a brilliant thought today: redo the headband with beads. I
proposed this to her and there was a long silence...

Help! by
Arnhild
I've just taken one of my UFOs out of hiding, and the white seems to
have gone from white to beige, and I hadn't finished all of it before
putting it away. So now the thread I have left is white, but the other
areas are beige. Is there anything I can try, or will I have to unpick
the white areas...

New Floss and Fiber Storage System by
Chip and Allie Orange
Hi, all,
I am always looking for new and better ways to store fibers (I use
file-a-floss) and came across this new system tonight, "Annie's Keepers". I
am not sure it would be right for me, because I don't like to cut the floss
all to length, but it might work out well for those of you who use...
