Needlepoint for Idiots? by
[email protected]
Is there a website somewhere that will show me the basics (in one
syllable words) of needlepoint? I've found the cutest small stockings
that I want to do as a Christmas gift for my Host when I stay in
England. It's disgustingly sweet, but one says "London" with an outline
of Big Ben, a Union Jack...

of them in months. Nebulizer quit working on Thur. Drugstore doesn't
carry them. Call pulmonologist office - assistant useless. Got on

Batten down the hatches. by
MargW
Boy, the weather all over the place seems to have been wild lately.
Karen has been having high winds and snow, Sheena and Cheryl and the
other nor-easterners have had storm after storm, and today it's wind.
The last three days have been amazing - we've set record high temps for
this time of the...

OT-My week from Hell by
Lucille[_3_]
Just for the heck of it, let me tell you the tale of woe about my crum-bum
week.
First I discovered that the headlight on the passenger side of my car is
missing the plastic cover. Whether it just fell off, or someone needed the
part (it's a 98 model) who knows, but it's going to cost over...

My New Frame is Empty??? by
Lucille[_3_]
I went out with a couple of friends this morning to a Big Lots and found a
really nice bargain. A 5" x 5" rather ornate pewter frame.
Now I must have something to put in it. After all, I wouldn't want the poor
little frame to stay empty, would I?
What wonderful ideas do you have for me for...

OT I am sooooooooo not a Happy Camper! by
Karen C in California
Took my business computer to the repair shop for a regular maintenance
to keep it reliable (can't run the business without it) and gave them
one specific task to accomplish: acquiring a specific peripheral.
Picked it up this morning. What I had asked for was not done. However,
they "cleaned...

Useful boxes. by
F.James Cripwell
From time to time we get threads on boxes which are useful to store
things like beads and sequins. My doctor has diagonized me as being a
pre-diabetic, so I rountinely take blood sugar levels using a machine
called a One Touch Ultra. The boxes the strips come in are well made
plastic cylinders,...

AOHell & Newsgroups by
Karen C - California
For the past few weeks, a post has been turning up repeatedly on RCTN that AOL
is discontinuing newsgroups. When I talked to a tech last week, I was assured
that this was a hoax; no intention to discontinue them, and if they did, they'd
send an official blue-bordered e-mail with the...

Traveling with Projects by
Kim McAnnally
Ok, so what kinds of projects have you taken when you travel? I'm planning
on taking a Floba Shoulder Bag and the pattern to stitch a Cat and maybe
some beaded flowers or a dragonfly on it too. Can't make up my mind what to
bead, but I must add beads! LOL

Good Advice by
anne
My EGA chapter just hosted Marion Scoular, an internationally famous teacher,
designer, and lecturer. Her classes and lectures were wonderful plus she's a
very delightful person.
One of the snippets she passed on was to include a Stash Administrator in
wills. This will send a signal to your heirs...

RCTNP by
Jere Williams
Speaking of uploading pics to rctnp, I just put some on the board -- a few
I've done in the last couple of years.
My favorites are Mares Eat Oats, after a song my mother used to sing, and
the gift for my grandson, Evan -- the mouse reminded me so much of him
before he walked much, when he'd raise...

at the most I used to put the date or the event on a piece. But I have a
lot of things I've done around my house that have no date and no indication
that I made them and I wish I'd done that. So.. do you sign your work and
if so, in what way?

Needlework as Punishment by

Saw a story on the TV news last night about a Judge in Texas who
sentenced a child molester to 320 hours of needlework (knitting). They
definitely need to recall this judge:

WAY OT - gift shopping angst by

Well, it's that time again! what to get DD for her birthday (or anytime)?
She has all the baby dolls she could need. Ditto stuffed animals, especially
dogs. I've eyed the American Girl style dolls - would she really play with
it? Were do I find more clothes? More books - only after we reduce what...

Credit card fraud. by

Just had a nasty scare - some B*****d has been playing fast and loose with
my credit card! Just been talking to Cahoot fraud department, who read me
out a whole list of "purchases" - loads of them with an internet perfume
company.
Nice (understandable for a change) Indian chap. When he came up...
