Changing a pattern size - longish by
Sharon Harper
I've been asked by a very dear friend to "make a quilt". The first person
she'd asked gave up quilting (apparently it was one of those "fads"). She'd
purchased a heap of FQ in the USA and wants to incorporate those (warm
reds/blues/beige with some stripes/plaids/stars - totally gorgeous) with...

OT dad update by
VanGoghLoverinCA
Well, it came to the point where dad needed a trach. So that happened Sat
morning and they also put a feeding tube into his stomach. Doctor said this is
being done for the long haul. (hard to hear that coming directly from a doctor
rather than from mom) The surgery went well and he was put into ICU...

Has this ever happened to you? by
Maureen Wozniak
Boy, have I done it now.! I've fallen in love with EQ5 for designing,
so I bought the Spring 2003 version of Stash. I've got a couple of baby
quilts to make, so the other night I sat down and did some designing.
One of the fabrics I put into this quilt came from Stash. It's from

Joann's FIFTY PERCENT OFF coupon by
Country Sharon
Hi,
When you hit the part of sending to a friend,(myself) it sends one and asks
for name and address to put you on their flyer list. The one they send you
has a different bar code # on it. I don't know if that makes a difference to
anyone, just thought I'd let you know.
Have fun using the coupon.

Cathy Kulibert
Thank you to Charlotte Hensen and Christina (via Merry Stahel). I was so
excited when I got some squishies. Didn't think they could possibly be for
me. They sure made my day. I'll be sure to be using them soon. First I need
to fondle a while.

Well, I've just finished the second birthday block for a friend. One will
be having a surprise birthday tomorrow with a snowman theme and the other's
will be in September. But both had deadlines. We're hoping to have a
finished quilt for one tomorrow. Not involved with the second...

bernina, walking foot, skipped stitches by
Musicmaker
I get my Bernina tuned on a regular basis, and yet am still unable to even
attach a binding without skipped stitches. Any ideas out there? Happens
whenever I try to sew through more that just fabric (ie batting, fleece,
etc)

Off Topic- words of wisdom from radio commercials by
The HairyFacedOnes 'N Me
On my drive to town today I managed to catch two different radio
commercials for a facial cream/lotion I shall not mention by brand name
but which is marketed to the "mature" woman. I enjoyed them both
immensely! One had the catchy phrase "Now I can tell the dreamboats
from the shipwrecks" which...

When quilting is magical by
Loren in Seattle
I've been working on a simple flannel quilt, blue/yellow HST's. Because the
pressing direction was confusing me and there are seams with lots of points
coming together, I started working with the quilt blocks face down so I
could track my pressing directions. It was a great technique BTW.
Today...

Scrap bag up for grabs! by
Kate Dicey
In sorting out the sewing room, I have heaved out a bag of scraps. I
must weigh it, but a guess would say three or four pounds, all nice
qualities, some tiny, some almost a fat quarter.
Yell if you went it - first to answer gets the lot!

Another Fabric Question by
Country Sharon
Ok, Thank you for the info on storing my fabric.
Now this is for those that wash their fabric before doing anything with it.
After you wash it ,do you all iron it right away, or fold and put away
until you need it?
If it is put away on shelves do you wash again and iron again or what?
This is for...

Buying Goose Down Duvets or Comfortors by
edalli
Right now I live in Hamburg, Germany. Some people tell me that
Germans use good blankets filled with goose downs. Where can I buy
some for me? I want very good quality blankets filled with geese
downs. Some people also tell me that Poland has good geese downs
blankets. Is there a store that...

Small happy dance by
Jalynne
Only because the quilt's not finished yet, but when it is, oh boy oh boy will i be
happy dancing in a big way. I'm doing stippling/meandering for the first time. I've
gotten the hang of free motion quilting motifs drawn onto the quilt, but now i just
wanted to see if I could handle meandering. ...

on your quilting, and you find that you don't know where to start???
I have one small quilt done for the lady from church, with 2 more cut
out for stitching (these are the little preemin/security quilts), and a

OT (mostly):My latest addiction - The Sims by
Kathy Applebaum
I've long been a fan of Sim City, but for some strange reason never thought
about getting The Sims. Last week at my quilt circle, there was a discussion
about The Sims, and the next day while shopping with DH, I saw a copy of the
game. It ended up in my basket, and I've done no sewing for myself...

MQ phobia cured by
Mel Rimmer
I've been cured of my fear of machine quilting, and all it took was the
right materials.
I had been afraid to MQ any tops I was pleased with, or had made with
expensive fabrics, in case I ruined them. So I practised on some 12"
squares, which worked OK. Next I had a go at quilting an ugly...
