Piecing question by
Tim & Debb
Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile now and wanted to ask a question that I haven't
seen addressed yet. Would it be a sin if I stitched one piece of 100%
cotton to a piece of 100% cotton flannel? I mean, would it cause problems
down the road as far as pulling differently and getting the quilt in...

Fabric Store name by
Tricia
Okay, I must really be losing my memory here --
What is the name of the big fabric store that is both a "real" business
and an online store that is in one of those states without a sales tax
or something like that?
My fabric selections here are limited in the beautiful north of
Michigan (to be...

MSN question. . . by
Donna in Idaho
I have an acquaintance (a man who is learning to long arm quilt and doing a
pretty good job of it!) who would like to subscribe to rctq. He knows
nothing about newsgroups and I didn't know how to explain using rctq with
MSN. Do you have to a newsreader or can you read ngs through MSN? I asked
if...

Thank you Squisher! by
Quiltshophopper
I send a delayed but exceedingly grateful thankyou to whomever sent me a
squishy last week! I squealed with joy; they are so very beautiful, and it
so happens that I have that same fabric in two other colorways so now I can
make the wall hanging I wanted to make with those fat quarters on a...

Holiday Crafts by
Toni Schneidt
I, too, would like some hints and ideas. The family knows I have fabric,
sewing machine, embroidery thread, beads, etc... And, now all I hear is,
what are you making me next? What fun little thing can you make for
Christmas? Things like that. If I find some, I will let you know!!

Quilts by MeSue by
The Laws
I am sure MeSue was in a local guild, or if she wasn't I am sure the local
one would be more than willing to finish up Sue's quilts. Also, someone in
that area must be a Blanketeer from Linus, in charge or a member who could
finish the quilts, even long arm, These two groups here in Florida are...

that fairytale village quilt I'm planning... by
Calico
A while back I begged for scraps of building materials type prints for a
fairytale village quilt I'm planning to make. Several of you sent me
squishies (and have been thanked privately). Last night I had a very happy
time sorting it all into stacks of wood, bricks, stones, roofing and
'other'....

Bindings....again by
Dannielle
Well, I can't find the beautiful blue fabric that was to bind my quilt, you
know the one that matches the outer border. Go figure. So I thought, well,
I'll just use that funky gold. After all, it's in the middle of the quilt,
it should look ok on the border too right? I think I'll post a...

On the subject of irons by
Debra
So many people have posted in the last year that their high dollar
irons have given up the ghost on them. I wonder why do those irons
not last for quilters. I hardly ever read of someone's inexpensive
iron breaking. Is it because of all the bells and whistles on the
fancy ones? Is it just...

new book by
Toni Schneidt
Just got back from the Joann's Saturday sale. I picked up a book that I have
been wanting to get. It is called
"Celtic Quilts A New Look for Ancient Designs" by Beth Ann Williams. I have
been looking at it for a while, and so decided to go ahead and get it. My
neighbor is Scottish, Buchanan clan,...

Bernina 1000 foot adapter by
LH
purchased a quilter's Curve Master and
an invisible zipper foot that require an
adapter for my Bernina 1000. I bought
the adapter at a Bernina dealer,
although it did not appear to be
manufactured by Bernina. When I
attempted to use it with either of the
above mentioned feet, the feet...

Hi Everyone,
I am going to be a Grandmother in late November and have already made a baby
quilt for him but I want to make a Christmas Stocking and my daughter said
"use some soccer fabric".
Here in the States, the college teams have a Mascot and you can purchase
fabric and make all sorts of...

A Use for Batting Strips! by
dogmom
Thanks to some creative fourth grade teachers, I decided to try making an
octopus. And those skinny leftover strips of batting--2" wide or even much
less--made perfect octopus leg stuffing! Wrapped it around a chopstick,
poked it on down and voila! I had just enough for 8 (which is so nice,
because...

EQ5 SOS by
Sandy Foster
I'm appealing for help on behalf of my DT (that's my dear twin g).
She's currently living in China and cannot access many things online, so
she can't get here to ask for herself. Keep in mind as I try to explain
that I use a Mac, so I know *nothing* about Windows machines! G
At any rate, DT...
