Tank top pattern? by
Lizzie
Hi
I want to knit a tank top in chunky yarn for a three year old. Can anyone
point me in the direction of a free pattern?
Also a hat for a three year old in the same yarn. It would be in k1 p1 rib
and I don't really need a pattern for this. Just the number of stitches I
should cast on. I can...

Need help understanding instructions by
mg1315
Hi All,
What a great newsgroup with a lot of useful information :~)
About 2 weeks ago I decided that I would learn to knit. I bought some yarn
and needles and went to the internet and figured it out. A couple of days
later, my daughter had a new scarf and soon followed a matching hat. She...

Spinning.... by
Noreen's Knit*che
Just got my Big Book Of HandSpinning today, I must say, Amazon dot com was
12 dollars cheaper than anyone else, AND had free shipping.... which they
said would take 4 to 8 days, and I got it in two.
DH has ONE more thing to do to my wheel, then I'm going to give it a whirl
over the...

Could someone explain how to estimate a knitting gauge using "wraps per
inch"?
What I am trying to do is double a sport yarn with a gauge of 6 st & 7 rows
= 1 inch on a US 5 needle to see if it would be considered a worsted weight
yarn. My pattern calls for worsted weight yarn and US 10 1/2...

Attention Cher: this is a test by
Barbara Vaughan
Hi Cher,
I posted twice yesterday saying that I received two lovely 6x6 squares
from Aud, but neither posting showed up (as far as I can see, anyway).
Then I posted as a reply to another thread, and that one did show up.
Now I'm trying again to post as a new message. One way or another, I
hope...

I received the squares that Laurie sent today and they are so pretty.

like the other one too. Love the colors also.

Extremely OT for Anna Maria or any other Italian by
spampot
I should probably e-mail our AMCM, but some other lurking Italian might
be able to help as well. This is a question about Italian pastries. I
have a wonderful book called "Christmas Memories With Recipes" in which
well-known people reminisce about the celebrations of their childhoods,
and include...

Froghair? I gotcher FROG HAIR right here! by
SlinkyToy
I got the great wheel put together today, dialled in the alignment
(thing was throwing its driveband for a while) and started spinning.
The first 20 yards is laughable. The second 20 yards will make
admirable sport-weight when plied.
The THIRD 20 yards is frog hair. Literally almost too fine to...

Discounted S.E.X. by
Laurie
The little craft store in my wee town is going out of business (I
really thought I alone was keeping them going!). They had their
Bernat skeins of yarn on sale for .99 each. I loaded up the shopping
cart until it was overflowing. My family has so many cats and dogs
that sleep on the beds,...

Hi Gang. I sent a picture to Martin, from our local newspaper, of a spinning
wheel that was a design that I had never seen before. Martin was kind enough
to caution me that the picture might just be copyrighted. I will try to
contact the person who took the picture for permission to post it for...

A crochet joke, cute by
Cori
I was reading some crochet mail tonight and a poster sent this in. I
thought it was cute and wanted to share.
Hugs,
Cori
A police officer pulled along a speeding car on the freeway.
Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the
wheel was crocheting!
