Footie Pajamas by
Tom Farrell
I have two pregnant friends, one of whom is expecting twins. I'm
planning to make some baby clothes for the happy couples' babies, and
one thing I'd like to make is footed pajamas. I'm wondering if anyone
here has made footed pajamas for babies or toddlers, and if so, if you
would recommend a...

Ho to choose a good oldie by
Francia
I am going to start a personal business which is done by sewing 5-600
gms/ms nylon or polyester fabrics, with up to 4 times superposition. I
will make big cushions filled with polystirene where kids, dogs and
grown ups can sit, lay, horseride and so on. Dimension about 2x1,5 mts

what I can do for them! Now they won`t let me forget it.

I need a new roof on the house so I am trying to start sewing for
others again...but this time trying to be profitable. So, even after
reading the many posts on this subject I have another question....
When purchasing special items for a project...ie. wooly nylon for the

lycra fabric source? by
Joy Hardie
I was just hired to sew a couple skating costumes for a pair and the
lycra supplier I used to use (several years ago) has gone out of
business. It's more fun to be able to go to a major supplier rather
than the local store...so they get something out of the ordinary. I
have been doing an on-line...

How to wash old linens and laces? by
Franfogel
I've just been given some beautiful old linens and handmade laces. Some have
mildew spot and other marks of age. What would be the best way to wash them?
Is there any hope that some of the mildew might disappear? Thanks for any
advice you can give me.

Mylar thread on Sheer Silk - picture of shirt by
Joy Hardie
I wanted to post a picture of the complete shirt that gave me so much
GRIEF! I tried every suggestion offered for sewing metallic thread on
silk....and it was still a bear. Actually, it wasn't metallic thread
- I realized I mis-stated as it was really MYLAR thread. Sewing

Simplicity #4926 Fish Costume by
Donna McIntosh
Good morning,
I made the fish costume for my 2nd DD and she loved it, but the problem was
the inch-thick foam , couldn't sew it on my machine especially when 2
thicknesses had to be sewn. Ended up sewing most of it by hand. Was it
just me or what? Thank goodness for whoever invented Transparent...

Kenmore Monogrammer by
Tom Farrell
So, I got a Kenmore Monogrammer.
Singer monogrammers for vertical needle machines seem to be about as
common as a month of mondays, and kenmore monogrammers crop up all the
time, so I figured I'd get one and see if I could use it.
I can't.
Basically, the device is made for a machine with a...

Quality child's sewing machine by
Joan
Anyone know the reputation of children's sewing machines? I want to
get one for my 8 year old granddaughter, but after looking on eBay
it's confusing. I don't want to get junk -- it would frustrate her
to have something that doesn't function well.
Thank you
Joan

FYI: skating and dance costume people by
Valkyrie
As I have been searching around for "viking fabric" I found this website
that seems to have some very nice fabric at really good prices that I
thought you might be interested in perusing. Not a sales pitch, just a
thought. I just ordered some stretchy velvet for a little winter lounging
attire ...
