DKiely33
Hi,
Someone is selling this machine locally and I wanted to see if I could get some
info or reviews on it since I can find NOTHING on the web.
The machine is a New Home (Janome) SR 2000.
Anyone used one or heard about it?
**ANY** info at all will be appreciated.

Parallell top stitching tips... by
Monica
I have a BabyLock Evolve Serger and a HuskyStar 224 Sewing machine and I
have an issue with both machines when I'm sewing parallel stitches. On the
serger I use wide set chain stitches and on the sewing machine I use one of
those double needles. The issue I run into is that because both...

Thread shrinking question by
Monica
Do threads shrink when washed and dried? I have some rayon thread and
polyester thread and I'm wondering if they will shrink similarly or if one
will not shrink when the other will.

Custom Roman Blinds don't have locking mechanism - Opinions needed by
Rockstead
Hey guys,
I need some opinions.
I had Custom Roman blinds put on three windows, this wasn't a Sears,
blind store pre-made set, it was all custom made by a Blinds,Drapes
designer here in Montreal, he does a lot of wealthy clients (I'm not
one of them).
Here's my prob, to my surprise there is no...

Advice for a self teaching newbie by
Spiderlashes2000
I want to learn how to sew. I have an old Sears Kenmore that I do not
know how to use -- bought used with no instructions manual. It can do
only two stitches and it didn't come with a "plug in" for extra
stitches. I'm familiar with a lot of basic sewing concepts -- bias,
stitch classes,...

Welcome Sewists and new posters! Here are some guidelines to posting to the
sewing newsgroups. In case you are wondering where you are and how you got
here, you are in a newsgroup, AKA "usenet" which is a part of the internet
that has been around much much longer than the www, which it is not a...

Instructions for sewing Roman shades? by
TT
Hello all,
I'm looking for some free instructions/patterns on how to sew Roman shades.
Does anybody have a link or two they could send my way regarding roman
shades? I've searched yahoo but all I seem to find is people selling a book
on how to make roman shades. There's got to be some free...

Simplicity 5758 by
SheridR
Hi,
Does anybody have this pattern? It's a dress, with a princess style bodice,
and a band just above the waist (a fabulous place for machine embroidery, or
smocking). I've been looking for this pattern ever since I saw it made up at
Martha Pullen's school, but when I search for it on Ebay, they...

Wrapping a table rail in vinyl by
Matt
Hi all,
I apologize that this isn't the most appropriate newsgroup for this
question... I was going to use the .misc group but it seems over-run with
spam messages.
I have a 7'x3.5' oval table with a foam bumper around the edge. The long
edges are 5' long so I guess its not strictly an oval, but...

The dress that ate my life is finally done! Of course it took my being awake for the last 2 1/2 days, but it's done! Now all I have to figure out is where to post some pics!
I have to say on this one that I am NEVER going to do another project like this on a week's notice while in school again. A...

15x1 and 130/705H. What's the difference? by
Cesar Crusius
Hi there,
I got my hands on a nice Pfaff 130 and have to buy some needles for
it. The manual says "130R" is the system it uses, but everybody sells
either 15x1 (Singer) or 130/705H.
After researching on the net I see a lot claim 15x1 and 130/705H are
"interchangeable," but I also saw posts...

Lace question by
Carey1003
Hi,
Is there a formula for converting the amount of pregathered lace to flat lace.
I have flat lace and will gather it by hand but I'm not sure how much I will
need to have it look right - i.e. if the pattern says 2 yd pregathered what
would be the equivilant of flat?
Thanks,
Carey

Wedding Pictures by
BEIDesign
I handed my digital camera off to one of the guests, and of course she
wasn't very familiar with it so some of the pictures are a little
fuzzy. However, here are the first pictures from the wedding:
