Phew! I got it right! by Pirjo Ilvesvuori
The first part of the decreasing operation is done. And there is 72 stitches at the moment. You bet it was hard to do. Had to put a marking yarn to every 5th stitch. But I did it anyway. Phew! Now the second part and then it is done - at least for a while. Best: Pirjo

Stockings by Karen
There was a thread recently for non-traditional knitting projects -- and I just found one that I think is really cool. It's at: http://www.knitting-crochet.com/messto.html Does that look fun or what?!? Anyway, it aks for 3-1/2-oz balls 2-fold stocking yarn. That's a new one to me. Does anyone...

Hi Laura, Welcome to the group! I live on the East coast, so can't help you knitting clubs in Santa Barbara. But, maybe you could check with your local yarn stores. They'll probably be able to help. There is also something called International Knitting Meetup Day. If you go to the...

Looking for Marilyn Barone - the senior helper by Foo Finder
Hi, I saw her post back in the 1990's. She wanted to help seniors learn how to use a PC. I'm just wondering what happened to her? Anyone else know of any programs to join where we can help seniors?

Clueless by Claire
I'm having a radical thought here - about knitting, of course. Okay, it's probably not radical to most of you but it is a little scary to me and I've no idea if I am completely on the wrong track or if this is something that everyone else has known for ever but just has never occured to me...

Phildar Perle 5 question by Deb
I have to make a doily for a customer and the pattern calls for Phildar Perle 5. What size is that? Normally, I would just crochet with size 10 thread, but since it's for someone else - I need to make sure the size thread is what the pattern calls for so the doily will be the right size. I've...

pattern search - shrug to wear with a wedding dress by Karen
I just saw a fancy crocheted bolero in a Lions Brand catalog that I got in the mail recently. It was marked as a new item. Very open stitch, so it looked lacy -- the yarn they used was Watercolors, described as a bulky weight, soft merino wool blend; and then it had fun fur trim. It...

Thanks everyone by KARoloff
Thank you - that definition of Berlin wool and Zephyr weight was perfect. The pattern calls for size 14 needles (I'm assuming metric, as this was before the American system was invented, but there is no gauge. I'll try felting the wool; I've got some carded, and the staple is about 2-3". I'll let...
