OT My trip to San Diego by Queen City Cross Stitcher
Hello everyone! Many of you know that Chris and Ayako were not married this past December due to Ayako's visa was delayed. She was able to get a visitors visa and flew to San Diego to visit with Chris. On a whim I looked at various trip packages and decide I could fly out there to meet Ayako for...

Have you dealt with them before? by Lorraine
Has anyone here ordered from Needleworker's Delight before and did they come through for you? The reason I ask is that I ordered the Twleve months of the Snowman afghan from them. I emailed and called but no answer. The charge has already hit my credit card and just this morning I received an...

OT - Canadian Maritimes weather by Bob & Marg Whittleton
I hope all our Canadian maritimers are OK with the terrible storm that has hit. (The weather forecasters are calling it a weather bomb). Both PEI and Nova Scotia have declared states of emergency with 50cm+ snow and steady winds at 80 clicks with gusts to 100. New Brunswick and Newfoundland are...

Linen band question by Felice Friese
Better safe than sorry! I'm planning a loooong, thin bellpull with a sampler-type design, just under 3 inches wide and at least 20 inches long, and it seems as if one of the Lori Birmingham linen bands with a pretty edge would be attractive. Am I correct in assuming that the width given for a...

ANG 2004 Reno Seminar by Jeanine3
Hi Ellice, I was just taking a closer look at the ANG Seminar pages and noticed that the classes are the 2003 ones. Are Vima deMarchi Micheli's classes the same and do you know the new dates? I was chatting up another member of my local Guild and she was interested too. Maybe the two of us...

Will this cover fabric like DMC floss? Wondering if I can needle paint with it. Anywhere to buy a kit of all of them?

Help !! Does anyone have the Filet 'Girl on Tree' Swing pattern? by Sue
I'm looking for a pattern that used to be offered as a freebie on the Lorrac Designs page. I've been searching for some time with no luck and wondered if there's anyone who has this and might be willing to share. It's a picture of a little girl pushing another on a 'Tree Swing' in Filet Stitch. ...

Mary Beale by BDS2pds
Any of you sampler ladies know where a chart for her tea cozy can be gotten--obviously long out of print..... She was guessing the title to be something like "A Memorable Tea"-- never seen it and doing it blind.

Magnifying lenses that are stuck inside your glasses by Michael Green
Has anyone here come across the lenses you can get that 'stick' inside your regular glasses, a bit like bifocals. The lenses are made of the same plastic as soft contact lenses, they soften in warm warter and harden when left to dry out, which retains them in position. Advice please. Thanks.

Another horror story ! by Pat P
Listening to our lovely local radio last night, the presenter, who was horrified herself and said she could hardly bear to read it - said that the world supply of cocoa beans was currently endangered by a couple of fungal infections! Pat P

Beautiful laying tool!! by Mavia Beaulieu
Awhile back Victoria showed us some of the laying tools she had been making. The ones on her website were lovely but all too large for what I was used to using. I described to her the Best tool I now have. It's about 4 inches long, very slender, made of metal which unfortunately...

Somebody was asking about seedcloth by Bob & Marg Whittleton
Hi folks: I just got back from a Guild meeting where we had some kits from Rajmahal containing "seedcloth". "Great", I thought, "here's the answer to the question about what seedcloth is". Well - only sort of. In one kit, the fabric appeared to be a silk type fabric, complete with slubs, while...

silk mori by BDS2pds
Kreinik “Silk Mori” – Disappointing quality- No we do not stock this thread. Silk Mori comes in pretty colors, and from a distance it looks like Soie d’Alger. Up close the difference is easy to see. Not only does Silk Mori have a looser twist than the other stranded silks, it actually...

I'm so excited! Paula H. is coming to visit me this weekend. We haven't gotten together for about 9 mos, so I'm thrilled she could come down now. We have "big" plans. We intend to start TW's English Garden Sampler together this weekend, and then do a SAL via email. I also intend to give Paula...
