Question about Fluorescent Glazes by
Paul Ciszek
I know that a lot of ceramic glazes can hold their color for millenia,
but how do fluorescent glazes hold up in sunlight? The only time I saw
some in a store, the staff didn't know much about them.

refiring old pots by
Susie
I have just bought an old chamber pot made by Royal Doulton for not a
lot of money. I'd love to use it as a planter, but the glaze has
crazed, but not too badly I'm thinking that it's cast earthenware, with
a plain white glaze and no decorations of any kind.. What would happen
if I popped it...

is it possible to separate? by
Jim
My wife took a pottery class. The instructor did all the glazing
until the last class. Where-in she had the students do the glazing.
In my wife's case apparently to much glaze was applied. So the
instructor made a circle out of ceramic clay (like a coaster) and put
that under the piece. While...

Sue Roessel Dura
I have an Olympic Kiln model 2723E (electric) that is about three years old. It
has been through about 100 or so firing cycles and yesterday suddenly two of the
three electric relays failed. Has anyone else ever encountered relay failures
like this? It seems like the relays should last longer than...

Jim
I have an old Skutt 818 kiln that has some of the bottom bricks broken from
the element down. I have never tried to replace bricks but if I do install
some new ones, do you have to put some kind of compound between the bricks
or just place them together dry. I can not find much info on the...
