OT annoying tv commercials by
Leslie& The Furbabies in MO.
The Tide commercial that got us upset got me thinking.... there are a few
more commercials that bug me. It's slow here on the ng, so let's do some
griping. You in? ;-)
I wonder about toothpaste commercials. Have you ever seen an actor/actress
with a mouthful of toothpaste foam (and foam...

Second Treadle Conversion by
John
Here are some pictures of the treadle conversion I just finished. It
is another Bernina 1008 Mechanical and this one sits on a Maple top
that is mounted on a Cherry Cabinet. I switched the Brass hand wheel
from the other machine that I converted, because when I went up to get
the parts for the...

OT Amazing! by
Lizzy Taylor
What heartwarming TV coverage from Chile. Watching the miners being
winched out of that mine is bringing tears to my eyes. It must be so
hard for the last guy waiting for his turn. In this day and age of
instant everything (except quilts of course) it seems strange to think
that the rescue...

Tropical Fling/ Susie Robbins by
debbiegail
Hi all,
I just discovered this forum today while searching for some fabric- the one in the thread title.
I am trying to finish a wall hanging I started a few years ago with a couple of these prints and I would really love to find more to use in the borders. Nothing else seems to be working.
If...

OT Which would you do? by
NightMist
I am on top of the holidays. Yay me!
Quilt tops are done, sandwiched, basted, and sorted by quilting type.
The ones that will be hand quilted are well started.
The sweater for DH has the pattern sorted, and the yarn is bought and
waiting to be dyed.
Plus I have bought all sorts of odds and ends...

Das Boot, Das Boot, too by
Butterflywings
Or should it be TWO?
One for the Right Foot and one for the Other Right Foot.
(Remember those 'moon boots'? These look like them only they're 'gray' and
have Velcro straps to keep them 'together' )
Yuppers, did it Royally this time.
Thursday, I got the cast off the Other Right Foot that had the...

Off on short vacation by
Susan Laity Price
The fall colors are just too pretty to stay in the city. Dave and I
are off for four days in Door County, Wisconsin. My friend, Mary Jane,
will be staying with Mom. Mary Jane is a quilter and won't believe any
of your stories about my promising you fabric. Sorry this was such a
last minute trip...

A Log Cabin Bag by
John
Here is the latest in the Shoulder Bag marathon. It is a Log Cabin
Pattern I did to match the Purse of the same pattern, that my wife has
confiscated. I had planned to keep this one for myself, but your know
how it goes. I am weak, and she did make me a wonderful Birthday
dinner, (Cheese Soufle'), ...

Results of my labours by
Sartorresartus
Well. I tried this MQ malarkey. And by and large I like the results.
I gave the cushion to my brother, who refused it with contumely. So
it has now gone to a more deserving home as a wedding gift to my
hairdresser, who loves it.
The Japanesy window quilt has gone to Canada to be with my DH's...

Help!! by
Sunny[_2_]
http://www.flickr.com/photos/onetexsun/3380820403/ For almost two
years I've been trying to quilt this. I've put in curlicues, wavy
lines, clouds, ghost birds ... you name it. And then I've picked every
stitch out. Nothing looks right. So, dear friends, time to kibitz.
Take a look at the photo and...

Which little machine? by
Sunny[_2_]
I'm getting brave (and stupid) as I grow older and I've signed myself
into several upcoming classes at the LQS and beyond. And I need a
little SM -- I DO NOT want to risk my computerized machine by dragging
it to class. On top of that, the 6600 weighs approximately 3,000
pounds and I couldn't move...

O/T gandson update by

Gonna keep my baby grandson for a couple of days to give Mommy and
Daddy a break. Daddy is working a lot of overtime and needs some
sleep. Cutting 8 teeth at one time is not good for parents that need
sleep. At least his ear infection is better. Thank you Lord.

photo transfer sheets by
Julia in MN[_5_]
How well do photo transfer sheets wash? I give away a lot of quilts and
hesitate to use anything that isn't going to stand up to repeated
machine laundering in warm water with regular laundry detergent. A lot
of folks are not willing to give a quilt any special laundry treatment
and I would not...

Quilt show Hattiesburg MS by
Kate T.
It was perfect weather for a show. In the mid 80's with low
humidity. The show was just yummy. I think there were over 300
quilts on display. So many quilts that the food vendor had to move
the 2nd floor balcony. Lots of vendors.
My camera decided to go bonkers and not stay on. It acted like...
